With a large family, there are a lot of things we are limited from financially. We don’t get to travel a lot unless it’s a quick day trip or I manage to secure some awesome deal on a hotel. Honestly, we try to do things that are budget friendly.
One way we are able to save money is by attending local events that are free or low cost. It’s not always easy to locate events, but I do turn to local resources like our visitors and convention bureau, park and rec program guides and whatever I can find on the internet.
We love to experience the different festivals, celebrations and fairs our community has to offer throughout the year.
Living in a football town (GOOOOO PACKERS!!!!) we are lucky to have a lot of local events that are open to the public, these have been a lifesaver.
If you are looking to get out with the family and explore your town but don’t know where to start, I recommend visiting your VCB, checking out bulletin boards at the library and just exploring!
It’s amazing what you find when you look in your own backyard!
