Crazy Facts Obsessed Kids

It seems that my love of useless knowledge has been passed down to Libby.  It never fails that she is spitting out some drivel that your average 14 year-old girl doesn’t.

For instance, this is the latest she threw my way…

A t rex would never be able to touch both hands let alone a finger together.

In case you didn’t know that already.

For some reason I find it interesting to learn strange facts about all kinds of things from people to tv shows to different states.

Like, did you know that before it was called Pepsi it was called Brad’s Drink?

It makes me laugh that this is one of my traits that Libby has and I also think it’s kind of awesome.  Someday, when she’s playing trivia or on Jeopardy she’s going to be the only person that know that shark’s have two penises.

Yep, that’s my kid…filled with useless drivel!

Do you have a child that is obsessed with crazy, useless knowledge or do you have a fun fact to share?

My First #JBFMilwaukee Experience & Why You Need to Go (Sept 21st-27th)

*This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Just Between Friends of Milwaukee.  This program is in partnership with Real Mom Media.  All opinions are my own*

Yesterday morning, Libby and I made our way down to Milwaukee for the Just Between Friends consignment sale. This was a first for both of us and I think we are both still in shock over the size of this sale.

 #JBFMilwaukee Fall 2014 Overview

The amount of clothing, alone, is overwhelming.  Racks and racks of maternity, costumes, girls and boys clothing and all of the sizes, it is absolutely crazy and EXTREMELY well organized.

There were more than enough toys to go around and of course, toys were organized in different sections for babies, girls, boys, Disney, Action Figures and so much more!

There was a sea of strollers, high chairs, boosters, bouncy seats and more.  Really, I don’t think there is anything you couldn’t find on your shopping list while sticking to your budget.

Check out this great video, put together by Maureen from Wisconsin Mommy to give you an idea of everything available.

My goal was to make sure that I got the #BestDeal on some winter gear for the little ones.  All 3 littles needed new boots, Joey needed a jacket that would fit now and another to get him through the rest of winter, along with snowpants as well as a few more fleece sleepers.

Here are a few things we picked up:  a pirate costume for Joey ($5), 3 fleece Carters sleepers ($5), a Big Chill winter jacket ($8) and Columbia boys snow boots that retail between $59.99-$69.99 for $15!!!!

I am still in awe of how big this sale is and if I had been feeling better, I think I could have spent the entire day shopping to make sure the kids were set for the next year!

If you go, here is what you need to know:

Our Return to the Emergency Room

It was a good run.  We made it just over 8 months without going to the ER and then…..this happened. On the evening of July 26th, we found ourselves back in the ER for the first time in 8 months. Alexander had been outside, playing at the park across the street from our house.  He was climbing on the outside of the tube slide, that he had just been told NOT to climb on, when he fell  about 6 feet to the ground and landed on his shoulder. He banged up his face pretty bad when he hit the wood chips too. Of course, I made sure I was prepared to keep him entertained in the ER….it’s the little things that make kids smile! After seeing the doctor and a few xrays, the diagnosis was a fractured clavicle and a separated shoulder.  You can expect to see him looking like this for 4-6 weeks. From the time he fell until we got home from the ER he apologized for not listening to us and climbing on the outside of the slide and promised he would never do it again.     During his recovery you can find him walking around the ‘hood, watching movies, playing on the iPad and playing with Legos….LOTS and LOTS of Legos.

Goodbye T-Ball

It’s hard to believe Alexander’s last year in t-ball has come and gone.  Next year he moves up to a new league, new rules and a whole new world for us.

He had a great time in t-ball this year and he really grew as a player and we are so proud of him.  Here are some pictures from the season, Alexander is #9 on the red Sir Speedy team.

Practice makes perfect.

Happy to get his uniform and even happier that it is red!

Sliding into home….gotta break those fresh white pants in right away at the start of the season.

End of the season with his trophy.

Looking forward to next year!

Always Smiling

I swear, regardless of how she is feeling, you put a camera in front of Miss Ellie and she will always smile!

Here she is snuggled up to mommy at almost midnight, with a fever and not feeling well.

Here she is photobombing her baby brother.

And just when we think she can’t get be any cuter than she already is, she goes and does this!

We’ve got our hands full with this one……
