Today Is My Due Date 1-12-12
Hard to believe that today is Baby Ellie’s due date and she’ll be 1 month old on the 17th.
I’m still adjusting to the whole thing.
Every day since she was born I look at her in amazement and say this is crazy….you’re not even supposed to be here yet.
Well, after today I will not be able to say that anymore.
We have arrived at her due date and I am thrilled that we have already had almost a month with her.
She is wonderful, beautiful and truly amazing not to mention thriving!
So, even though she was due today, we wouldn’t trade the last month for anything!
Growing like a weed
Can you believe that little Miss Ellie is already 3 weeks old?
I can’t!
She went to see our family doctor, the fabulous Dr. J this past Thursday and we are proud to report she is growing like a weed. She weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces (that is a 12 ounce gain since her appoint the day after Christmas) and she is now measuring 20.5 inches which means she grew 2 inches since birth!
I cannot believe just how fast she is growing.
Yesterday we went to another appointment and had her weighed and she was up another 2 ounces now putting her at 6 pounds 10 ounces.
I am very proud of her and I am definitely not worried that my body is not providing for her properly because by these numbers we definitely know that it is.
It is also pretty neat to start seeing her fill out her clothes that she was drowning in a week ago.
Pretty soon we will be moving out of the newborn clothes and finally into the giant stash of 0-3 months clothing. I’m sure Ellie, being the little fashionista she is, is super excited about this. I can tell she is getting tired of wearing the same clothes over and over and over again.
We also received good news from the doctor that she doesn’t need to return until her 2 month check up since she has been doing so well at gaining weight.
Now if I could just keep her from spitting up all the time……
it’s a good thing the cuteness totally makes up for it!
My Baby Bean
As I mentioned a few days ago, my little Baby Ellie has arrived. Right now we are still at the hospital. I have been discharged and am taking advantage of the hospitals Bed & Breakfast program so I can continue to stay at the hospital with her until she is ready to go home. Since Ellie was born at 36 weeks gestation, she is considered a late term preemie and she has been facing a few hurdles. A few hours after birth she did experience a few issues with breathing but she quickly jumped that hurdle. She has also been struggling to maintain her body temperature, eat and gain weight and has been a little jaundiced.
While we continue to do everything we can to get her to where she needs to be and work towards our goal of going home, I wanted to take a moment and share some pictures with you.
Enjoy!
36 Weeks and counting
Yep.
I am in my 36th week and getting ready to wrap it up and head into my 37th.
This pregnancy has been unlike any of my others.
I actually enjoyed my other pregnancies.
This time around…..not so much.
Last week I encountered my first hemorrhoid ever in my life.
Yeah, TMI I know.
Deal with it.
I’ve had to deal with the pain of this f**ker and it has been far from fun.
And then of course it ruptured.
Again, I know….TMI but deal with it.
This happens to pregnant people.
So now this pregnancy is officially a pain in the ass too!
On Sunday I started having contractions and back pain.
It is now Tuesday afternoon and I am still having them.
Not to mention every part of my pelvic region feels like it is on fire thanks to all of the pressure.
Friday I head back into the doctor’s office.
I will be seeing the nurse practitioner this week.
I still can’t tell if she is still breech and am hoping to get an answer this week.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that this little girl joins us soon.
I would rather be sleep deprived and covered in spit up then in continuous pain.
Come on Baby Ellie, lets do this!
