Last weekend I sat down with the family and watched Real Steel. The Alex and Zack had been dying to see it and the Alexander will watch anything that has robots because to him a robot is equal to a Transformer and right now anything like that is super cool.
As for me, this movie stars Hugh Jackman…..need I say more?
Overall, the entire family really enjoyed this movie.
Here is a brief synopsis of the movie:
Set in the not-so-distant future where boxing has gone high-tech and 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots have taken over the ring, the film stars Hugh Jackman (X-Men franchise, Australia) as Charlie Kenton, Evangeline Lilly (TV’s Lost, The Hurt Locker) as Bailey Tallet, Dakota Goyo (Thor) as Max Kenton, Kevin Durand (I Am Number Four, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as Ricky, and Anthony Mackie (The Adjustment Bureau, The Hurt Locker) as Finn.
I was actually really surprised by this movie and honestly did not expect it to be as good as it was! I thought that is was a great movie for the whole family to enjoy! What I really appreciated about the movie was that they showed how a father and son can mend a broken relationship when brought together by something that they both love to do. For me, that part really hit home and I think it had an affect on my 2 older children as well. The relationship between Charlie and ax was depicted quite well in the movie and was very believable.
After watching the movie, we checked out the bonus features. We really like watching the Building of the Bots and learning how they created each of them and brought them to life in addition to seeing how the actors interacted with the bots for the film.
Be sure to check out Real Steel on DVD & Blu-ray January 24th!
