Guest Post: Patio Awnings

A Patio is the perfect way to improve the quality of your home for many reasons; you could host a party, or you could have a barbecue, host a get together, or anything else that you might want to do on your back porch. But what happens if you do all the planning for big events only for it to rain on your party or your big get together? This could truly ruin the entire event that you spend so much time getting ready for, and a patio awning can truly save tragedies such as this from happening, and are perfect for protecting your patio and prolonging the life of your belongings. There are numerous different types of awnings when choosing a patio awning, and they all will fall into numerous budgets, which makes it simple for you to decide which one is the best for you.

The first type of patio awning would just be a typical canopy type awning, which would have to be put up and taken down each time that you need to use it. The main benefit of this type of patio awning is that they are relatively inexpensive and can be bought in various sizes, which helps to accommodate many different events.

Since the arrival of Ellie last month, for some strange reason I have been on edge.
Things have become so bad that I am having a hard time sleeping.
If it wasn’t for things like my DVR, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter I would probably lose my mind.
Even on the night when I do make it into the bedroom and lay down to go to sleep I find myself constantly checking on Ellie.
Every little noise she makes while I am sleeping wakes me up.
Every time she spits up in her sleep, I am right at her side.
Every time she is quiet for an extended period of time, there I am making sure she is still breathing.
And….it’s not just Ellie that is doing this to me.
When I hear strange noises in the house I freak out.
I can’t have any blinds open after the Alex goes to work because I constantly feel like someone is watching me.
I have to check multiple times before I go to bed that all the doors and windows in the house are locked.

See….I am losing my shit.

Oh and when I do finally manage to gather my shit long enough to catch a few zzz’s I wake up over and over and over again either because I hear something or because I have some crazy, screwed up dream that jolts me awake.

Again, I admit it….I am losing my shit.

Over the last few days, things have become worse.
Friends of ours lost their daughter just shy of 37 weeks gestation.
Ellie was born just shy of 37 weeks gestation.
Their daughter didn’t make it, but ours did.
Of course, my heart is aching for them.
I have cried multiple times for them.
I have held Ellie closer, tighter and have had moments where I am afraid to put her down.
It has become so bad that I rarely allow Ellie to leave my sight.

I am at the point where I am so exhausted I don’t know what to do because no matter how hard I try I just can’t get a decent night’s sleep.

I guess it is time to see the doctor…..

Real Steel on Blu-ray & DVD 1/24/2012

Last weekend I sat down with the family and watched Real Steel. The Alex and Zack had been dying to see it and the Alexander will watch anything that has robots because to him a robot is equal to a Transformer and right now anything like that is super cool.

As for me, this movie stars Hugh Jackman…..need I say more?

Overall, the entire family really enjoyed this movie.

Here is a brief synopsis of the movie:

Set in the not-so-distant future where boxing has gone high-tech and 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots have taken over the ring, the film stars Hugh Jackman (X-Men franchise, Australia) as Charlie Kenton, Evangeline Lilly (TV’s Lost, The Hurt Locker) as Bailey Tallet, Dakota Goyo (Thor) as Max Kenton, Kevin Durand (I Am Number Four, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as Ricky, and Anthony Mackie (The Adjustment Bureau, The Hurt Locker) as Finn.

I was actually really surprised by this movie and honestly did not expect it to be as good as it was! I thought that is was a great movie for the whole family to enjoy! What I really appreciated about the movie was that they showed how a father and son can mend a broken relationship when brought together by something that they both love to do. For me, that part really hit home and I think it had an affect on my 2 older children as well. The relationship between Charlie and ax was depicted quite well in the movie and was very believable.

After watching the movie, we checked out the bonus features. We really like watching the Building of the Bots and learning how they created each of them and brought them to life in addition to seeing how the actors interacted with the bots for the film.

Be sure to check out Real Steel on DVD & Blu-ray January 24th!
