Enter to #Win 50 Holiday Cards from Tiny Prints #Giveaway Ends – 11/16/11

I recently posted about shopping for this years holiday cards for our family to send out and am happy to announce that I made a decision and the cards have been printed and delivered to the house.  Now I just need to start addressing envelopes and get them sent out.  I am hoping to have them all addressed and ready to go within the next two weeks just to ensure that when it is time to get them in the mailbox they are ready to go!

This year we made the decision to get our cards from Tiny Prints because in all honesty, they were the company that met all of our needs and had our favorite design.  When I say our, I mean our entire family made the decision to choose the card we did, which pictures were used and everyone gave their final approval before the order was submitted.

As an added bonus, on November 9th, 2011, you can take advantage of Tiny Prints 1 Day Promotion and receive a FREE card to your kids from Santa Claus by visiting the Tiny Prints Facebook Page and personalizing one of two great cards!  This offer ends on 11/9/11 at 11:59 PM (PT)

Father’s Day Traditions

For years all my sister and I heard that my dad wanted for Father’s Day was a new hose reel.
Every time we were told he wanted one, we obliged and made the purchase.
These days he asks for things such as gift cards so he can save up for a certain item.
This year he wants gift cards towards a remote starter for his new car.
Yes, he gets expensive but so did my sister and I over the years.
Needless to say, I’m sure he’ll be pleased once again this year.

When it comes to Father’s Day within my own house, things are a little different.
My Alex doesn’t really ask for anything other than a few extra hours of sleep or to get out of chores for the day.
Yeah, he is just that sweet.
Even though he doesn’t usually ask for anything I try to have the kids do something nice for him.
This year I am still trying to figure out just what to do.

I’ve been looking around online and have visited Tiny Prints a few times debating on making him a custom Father’s Day card.

This year, I think the Alex’s biggest Father’s Day gifts are that we are expecting another child and that he will be adopting Zack and Libby the first week of June.

What else could I possibly give him for Father’s Day to show him just how much we love him other than that?
Any suggestions???

Mother’s Day is just around the corner

I love Mother’s Day.
Believe it or not, I actually love Mother’s Day MORE than my birthday!
My kids have always made Mother’s Day great and that’s why I enjoy it so much.
Last year for Mother’s Day, the kids made me cards, attempted to serve me breakfast in bed and then took me out for lunch AND dinner!
It was such a nice day.
And it has to be the best one I have had in the 12 years I have been a mom EXCEPT….
my first Mother’s Day will always be my favorite.
Zack was born in February 1999, so my first Mother’s Day was when he was a few days shy of being 3 months old.
My mom went out of her way to get me a card from him (that I still have).
Not to mention that day care also made sure I got a little something from him as well….

Your first Mother’s Day is one you never forget and I know that I never will.
Over the years, the kids have made me a few other pieces of artwork and I thought I would share with you because homemade gifts from kids are truly the best kind!!

These are the best gifts a mom can get!
I don’t have any homemade Mother’s Day cards from Alexander just yet, but I’m pretty sure that this year I will receive my first!!
Cards are a great way to say Happy Mother’s Day and Tiny Prints offers a great selection of cards for you to create your own unique cards.

The Megalomaniac Family Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 was another hectic one for The Megalomaniac Family and we are happy that we survived!
This year I felt like we were on the go nonstop and it didn’t help that during all of it I was really sick with duel outer ear infections.
Our Christmas started on the morning of Christmas Eve with a gift opening at my in-laws house.
Since I was in a drugged haze for most of the holiday, I’m thankful that I managed to snap a few pics here and there.

Zack and Libby on Christmas Eve---Being nice to one another! A VERY rare moment!

Alexander (with his Bumpa) opening his first present.....Toy Story 3 Color Wonder markers & coloring pad.

Zack with his new Hot Wheels MiniBike thingamajig he got from Grandma & Bumpa (This toy has now been taken over by Alexander.)

Libby and her new ornament from Grandma & Bumpa. Each of the kids received one with their name on it.

The Alexander snuggling with his Auntie A. He sure missed her while she was away at school!

After we were done opening gifts at the in-laws, we made our way north to the Alex’s grandma’s house for lunch.
Going to Grandma’s is one of our favorite parts about Christmas because it is the one time of the year she makes her amazing meat pie!

Unfortunately I do not have any pictures from our time at Grandma’s because, well to be honest, I ate lunch and then fell asleep since I wasn’t feeling well.

Once we were done at Grandma’s we made the 30 minute drive back home and then discovered that I had left my camera up north and the hubby had left his cell phone behind.

Needless to say the next hour of my life was spent in the van making the drive back up to Grandma’s and then back home.

Then I drugged myself and went to sleep.

After my little nap, we loaded back into the van and headed back to the in-laws house for Christmas Eve with my mother-in-laws side of the family.

I was in pain throughout most of the night.

I took a few pictures.

Enjoy!

Libby opening her Paper Jamz ensemble. (My house will never be quiet again!)

Zack showing off the awesome new Greg Jennings jersey he received. GO PACK GO!

Alexander and his awesome little farm set he got as a gift. (I keep stepping on the darn pieces!)

The Alex and I opened gifts to, but it is really just a blur to me.
A few hours later he dropped me off at the ER to have my ears checked out but I already wrote all about that in another post.

After the ER, I went to bed, slept, woke up and the kids opened their gifts from Santa.
I somehow managed to capture a few pics in my drugged haze.

Libby showing off her new movie, Shrek Forever After that Santa brought her.

Alexander and his new computer from Santa. He was just a little excited!

Zack and Libby and their mystery gifts from Santa.

Now, the mystery gifts Zack and Libby received from Santa were their BIG gifts. Each year they receive something that they have been asking for over and over and over and over but this year, this year Santa really threw them for a loop with a HUGE surprise!
Thankfully the Alex captured it on video because their reaction was priceless!

I’m glad they were really excited about their big gifts because after that I went back to bed and slept through most of the day.

I hope you had a great Christmas too!
