Switched At Birth Vol. 1 Now on DVD

One of my favorite new shows this year is ABC Family’s Switched At Birth starring Vanessa Marano and Katie Laclerc. If you have not caught this show yet, you are truly missing out.

Here is a synopsis of the show:
A groundbreaking new drama about the upheaval that two teen
girls experience when they discover that they were accidentally switched at birth.

Bay Kennish, a talented graffiti artist with an edgy streak, grew up in a wealthy family with happily married parents and an older brother. Daphne
Vasquez, an athletic teenager who lost her hearing at an early age, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. When the girls’
worlds collide, family bonds are tested, new romances are sparked, and they start to learn that it’s who they are inside that matters, not where they
grew up.

When this show first started airing, I was immediately sucked into it. I love the story line and the direction the show is headed.

Here is a quick peek at an episode.

Not only am I hooked on this show but my 11 year old daughter, the Libby is as well.

For those of you who haven’t seen the show, you can pick up Volume 1 of the series on DVD in stores now for right around $30! It also includes “Switched at Birth” exclusive collectible iPod skins.

Definitely a good investment if you ask me.
We are enjoying watching Volume 1 while we wait for the show to hit the air once again.

Disclaimer: I was provided with this collection at no cost to me in exchange for my complete and honest review. All words and thoughts are my own.

Prepping to be homeowners

As I have shared on this blog before, the Alex and I have been working very hard to repair our credit history so that we can finally become homeowners.

Given our less than stellar credit history we are aware that buying our first home will be no easy task. We have been doing what we can to save money for a down payment and have started perusing the real estate ads.

We have both settled with the fact that because our credit has suffered over the years we will most likely start off our journey is homeowners with a not so great interest rate. Yes, that is a hard thing to swallow but we are willing to tough it out until we become eligible for a mortgage refinance down the road.

As we wait for our newest family member to arrive, along with the new year, we are anxious and hopeful that we can get this process going and be in our own home within the next 6 months.

For those of you out there who are homeowners, do you have any tips as to how to go about the home buying process for the first (and hopefully ONLY) time?

36 Weeks and counting

Yep.
I am in my 36th week and getting ready to wrap it up and head into my 37th.
This pregnancy has been unlike any of my others.
I actually enjoyed my other pregnancies.
This time around…..not so much.
Last week I encountered my first hemorrhoid ever in my life.
Yeah, TMI I know.
Deal with it.
I’ve had to deal with the pain of this f**ker and it has been far from fun.
And then of course it ruptured.
Again, I know….TMI but deal with it.
This happens to pregnant people.
So now this pregnancy is officially a pain in the ass too!
On Sunday I started having contractions and back pain.
It is now Tuesday afternoon and I am still having them.
Not to mention every part of my pelvic region feels like it is on fire thanks to all of the pressure.
Friday I head back into the doctor’s office.
I will be seeing the nurse practitioner this week.
I still can’t tell if she is still breech and am hoping to get an answer this week.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that this little girl joins us soon.
I would rather be sleep deprived and covered in spit up then in continuous pain.
Come on Baby Ellie, lets do this!

EVO Sale at Sprint now thru 12/14

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sprint for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

As a huge fan of Android phones and a valued Sprint customer for the last 5 years, I thought now would be a great time to share an amazing deal that Sprint is offering from now through December 14th.

Right now, Sprint is offering Android™ powered EVO 4G devices for FREE on Sprint!  These free devices include the HTC EVO 4G or the EVO Shift.

Not only is Sprint offering the phones for free but they are also waiving the activation fee for new lines of service AND FREE shipping as well!

Investing in Android phones is one of the best decisions we made with our cellular service.  To have a phone that allows us the use of the internet no matter where we are has been wonderful.  It has also allowed us to have GPS when we are traveling without having to invest in another device.

Another of my favorite features of having an Android phone is having Android Market available to us as well which includes thousands and thousands of free apps, apps you would have to pay for if you had a difference type of phone.

If you have been debating on making the move to an Android phone, now is the time and why not take advantage of this great offer!?!
