I’m sure you’ve heard, unless you live under a rock, the Green Bay Packers WON the Super Bowl last night and are bringing the Lombardi trophy home!
We’re just a LITTLE excited around here!
I’ll admit, when it was over…I cried.
To see the Packers on top of the world after all this organization has been through the last few years was an amazing feeling.
After watching the Lombardi trophy be presented to the team, we hopped in the van and made our way to Lambeau Field.
Things there were CRAZY!
Here are a few pictures I was able to snap.
Words CANNOT describe what this town was like last night. I tried to take some videos with my phone, but apparently I did it wrong because they didn’t work, but thanks to some other awesome people in the area, I am able to give you an idea of what it was like on the streets of Green Bay last night.
This video is shot along Lombardi Avenue from the parking lot of Lambeau Field.
The next video is on the steps of Lambeau at the Oneida Entrance.
To be part of the celebration in this city last night and to have my children experience it with me was absolutely amazing!
GO PACK GO!!!
GO PACK GO!!!
It is a GREAT day to be a Packer fan!
The weather around here hasn’t been the best lately.
It’s been bone chillingly cold.
The lower half of the state had more snow dumped on them in 2 days then they usually do all winter.
As for us, we are running out of things to do to entertain the little Alexander.
The last few days, we’ve been visiting a local indoor play place (more to come on that in another post!) His favorite thing they have to offer so far…..half of a wooden swing set, containing his favorite part…the fort and slide!
Needless to say, he’s constantly on the climb.
Up the ladder.
Down the slide.
Up the ladder.
Down the slide.
It goes on.
And on.
And on.
Is it Spring yet?
For those of you who aren’t in my immediate circle of friends and family, which means a large part of my readership…..so yes, I am talking about….
This family of 5 that we have created has been going through a lot the last few months.
By a lot, I mean we are going through all of the necessary legal channels to make us an ‘official’ family.
Yes.
By becoming an ‘official’ family, I mean that the Alex is taking of the responsibility of becoming Zack and Libby’s legal father.
In October, we started the process of step-parent adoption.
As you know, I have a sordid past which produced 2 beautiful children.
Since the Alex has come into their lives, he has more than proved that he is more than their step-dad.
He is their dad.
He is the one who helps take care of them when they are sick.
He is the one who attends their parent teacher conferences.
He is the one who watches their baseball, soccer and football games.
He is the one who provides them with the things they need and the things they want.
He is the one who keeps a roof over their head and food on the table.
He is the one who helps with homework.
He is the one who loves them unconditionally as if they were his biological children.
He is their Dad.
So far, we have been playing a waiting game.
A very, very, very long waiting game.
There has been A LOT of paperwork.
There have been background checks.
6 of them to be exact.
There has been an interview with the Child Welfare/Adoption Specialist who has been assisting us through this process.
And now, now we wait.
Again.
We are waiting for her final report.
Once that is complete, we move on to the next step and file with the courts.
It’s just a matter of time before we become an ‘official’ family.
We can’t wait!
The Libby and I recently sat down together and read the book Kathryn the Grape – Just Like Magic by Kathryn Cloward and Jody Duhamel and beautifully illustrated by Christine Winscott.
We really enjoyed sharing this book with each other and found that it told a beautiful story and taught you how to believe in yourself and find the magic within yourself everyday.
I asked the Libby what her favorite part was, her reply……
I liked when the Coach gave the girls their nicknames. -Libby age 10.5
This book is truly magical and shares a wonderful message with the readers.
Another great thing is that $1 of from every book sold on KathryntheGrape.com is directed to the Kathryn the Grape Foundation whereupon we partner with non-profit agencies focused on supporting education, empowerment and sustainability.

Alexander likes to turn the lights on and off in our house constantly.
He has a variety of ways to reach the light switches he just can’t quite get to yet.
He’ll stand on his Fireman hat to reach the one around the corner from the baby gate to turn the lights on and off in the kitchen.
He stands on pillows in the living room to turn the front porch light off and on. Off and on.
I swear someday’s it looks like a strobe light.
The one light he has struggled to get at is the one in my bedroom.
And…he spends a lot of time in my bedroom.
He also likes to be independent and insists that he is a big boy.
Then, along came the Kidswitch and it made his life easier! (For the next part, I was going to take pictures of Alexander using the Kidswitch but today is one of the days he is refusing to put clothes on. The ones I finally had him in, have already been removed. *sigh*).
The Kidswitch is an awesome tool that has been designed to give toddlers the independence of turning the lights on and off all by themselves!
For us, it has been wonderful!
It was super easy to install and even came with a decora switch adapter since every light switch in our house is a decora switch and it works wonders.
The little Alexander is loving his new found independence in my bedroom, so much that some nights when he’s hanging out with me I experience strobe light effects in my room!
These switches, are also NOT an eye sore. They are super cute and completely designed with kids in mind and THEY GLOW IN THE DARK!!!!
Talk about AWESOME!!!
We’ve enjoyed our Kidswitch so much, that we’re giving one away to one of The Megalomaniac Mommy’s readers!
