I haven’t had a lot of time to write this week, or actually lately. I’ve been trying to catch up on a lot of review work, the house work and spending time with the family. I have also started sleeping more…like on a regular basis and have been getting up earlier than I usually would. Alexander and I have been getting out more during the day while the big kids are at school and we’ve really just been enjoying our time together.
Last week, a member of my extended family suffered a great loss, so I was dealing with the emotions that brought out in me in addition to all of the other emotions I have been experiencing lately. And I have been an emotional basket case….once again. The Alex and I have decided, we want another child. This has been a great debate between the two of us for the last year and we have both gone back and forth changing our minds and now, now we are both on the same page and we want one more. One more little munchkin running around and our family will be complete. So yes, we are trying to get me knocked up!
Also, as I mentioned last month, we have been working had to pay off old debt and start rebuilding our credit and we have been doing a great job at it. We are very hopeful that this year is the year we become homeowners, however we are aware that we might not be able to do it without the help of our family but are keeping our fingers crossed that we can..
I have spent most of this week taking care of sick kids. Alexander was hit with a chest cold and cough for the last few days and the Libby was experiencing some vomiting and a fever earlier in the week but I am happy to report they both seem to be back to normal.
Our family has also been following the big political fiasco we are currently facing in Wisconsin and since I promised myself I would never discuss politics on my blog, I will just say it has been very, very interesting. If you haven’t heard anything or want some more information you can find a great blog post HERE, and HERE.
Other than that, I don’t really have much else to report. It’s getting late and I should really get some rest….another busy day ahead since the big kids have a half day of school and I have A LOT of work to catch up on!
Until then, I hope you have had a chance to check out the 30 Day Picture Challenge I have been working on.
I recently had a chance to read Heather Gudenkauf’s latest book, These Things Hidden and it left me wanting to read more from her!
This book tells the story of Allison Glenn and her life after serving five years in prison for an unconscionable murder. It is a book filled with twists and turns that constantly has you on the edge of your seat. I didn’t know what to expect from one minute to the next and could not put it down. It definitely grabbed my interested and kept surprising me.
Honestly, I was so sucked into this book that I read the entire thing in 6.5 hours. It was really that good.
Heather Gudenkauf is the New York Times Bestselling Author of The Weight of Silence. Prior to have read this book, I had not read any of her work but did order The Weight of Silence the minute I finished These Things Hidden.
If you would like a chance to win a copy of These Things Hidden, head on over to the BookTribClubbetween February 18th through February 25th and 12 NOON EST for your chance to win 1 of 10 copies of Thewse Things Hidden signed by Heather! Heather will also be live chatting with readers on BookTribClub on Wednesday, February 23rd starting at 6:45PM CST for one hour answering reader questions!
Disclaimer: I received an advanced copy of this book at no cost to me in exchange for my honest review.
At this very time 12 years ago, I was laying in an uncomfortable bed at Bellin Hospital attempting to sleep while in labor.
I did somehow manage to catch a few zzzz’s here and there.
Less than 7 hours later, I was a mom.
Yes.
12 years ago, on February 12th, 1999, I became a mom to an adorable little man we have now coined Zack.
Over the past 12 years, I have watched that little boy turn into a little man and become one of the most delightful kids I know (and I’m not just saying this because I’m his mom!).
Zack has been a great kid and really, I couldn’t have asked for more!
Happy Golden Birthday Zack, I love you and I hope you have an awesome 12th birthday!
Today we will be out and about having some birthday fun!
A trip to the movies to see Gnomeo & Juliet, to the Packer Pro Shop to purchase his new Aaron Rodgers jersey and then to dinner at Curly’s Pub at Lambeau Field.
I have a toddler.
An almost 3 year old little boy.
He likes to touch everything….
even the things he shouldn’t.
Not only do I have a toddler, but I have a touchscreen computer and a huge flat screen TV in the living room.
The room we spend A LOT of time in throughout the day.
So, what does a flat screen TV + a touchscreen computer + an almost 3 year old toddler = ??
Let me tell you….all of that is the combination for some dirty screens!!
Seriously!
I’ve had to wipe cheesy fingerprints of our TV before.
We have tried a variety of products to use on the screens to clean them properly but couldn’t find one that worked just right and didn’t leave any streaks behind.
Now, if you can recall, a while ago I reviewed Brilliant Lenses Cleaner and we loved how great it worked to clean our glasses. Now, the same company has introduced us to Brilliant Screen Cleaning Wipes.
The Brilliant Screen Cleaning Wipes provide gentle, superior cleaning to any electronic screen and removes dust, dirt, finger prints and makeup while imparting an invisible, durable barrier that protects screens 50x more form scratching. These wipes work in 2 parts. First you use a wet wipe to clean the surface and then a dry wipe to dry the surface. They are easy to use and they do a great job!
