Mother’s Day is just around the corner

I love Mother’s Day.
Believe it or not, I actually love Mother’s Day MORE than my birthday!
My kids have always made Mother’s Day great and that’s why I enjoy it so much.
Last year for Mother’s Day, the kids made me cards, attempted to serve me breakfast in bed and then took me out for lunch AND dinner!
It was such a nice day.
And it has to be the best one I have had in the 12 years I have been a mom EXCEPT….
my first Mother’s Day will always be my favorite.
Zack was born in February 1999, so my first Mother’s Day was when he was a few days shy of being 3 months old.
My mom went out of her way to get me a card from him (that I still have).
Not to mention that day care also made sure I got a little something from him as well….

This is the front of the Mother’s Day Card Zack ‘made’ me for my 1st Mother’s Day in 1999.

Your first Mother’s Day is one you never forget and I know that I never will.
Over the years, the kids have made me a few other pieces of artwork and I thought I would share with you because homemade gifts from kids are truly the best kind!!

Woe is me

We are potty training.
This is the 3rd time I have gone through this since becoming a mom.
One would think it would get easier with every child.
Oh how I wish!
My little Alexander is by far the hardest trainee I’ve had.
Don’t get me wrong, he will go on the potty every time you take him BUT
He will also pee in his Pull-Up and come running to tell you instead of telling you he has to go potty first AND
HE WILL NOT POOP ON THE POTTY!
I’m at a loss.
I don’t know what else to do.
He’s 3 and starts Preschool in September.
Preschool that we have already started paying for.
Preschool that he HAS TO be potty trained to attend.
I have really tried everything with this kiddo.
I’ve bribed him with toys, stickers, candy, Buzz Lightyear and Cars Pull-Ups and even all kinds of cool underwear with all of his favorite characters on them.
Not to mention the AWESOME Buzz Lightyear and Elmo potty seats and the nice comfy potty chair.
My oldest, Zack, was by far the easiest to potty train and was wearing the big boy undies by the time he was 2 and the Libby was all set before she turned 3 and now this little man is just giving me a run for my money!
I just don’t know what else to do but am open to any and all suggestions from all of my other bloggy friends.

Spike Seasonings Review & Giveaway – Ends 4/12/11

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

Since we began making changes to our diet, we have started to incorporate new foods. Foods that a lot of us are NOT use to eating. We have had to come up with different ways to create dishes the whole family will like. In order to do that, we have had to play around with different flavors and thanks to Spike Seasonings, we have been able to do just that!

Spike Seasoning is available in 10 different varieties:

*SPIKE® Original Magic!
*SPIKE® Salt-Free Magic!
*SPIKE® HotNSpicy Magic!
*SPIKE® Vegit Magic!
*SPIKE® Vege-Sal Magic!
*SPIKE® Garlic Magic!
*SPIKE® Lemon Pepper Magic!
*SPIKE® 5-Herb Magic!
*SPIKE® Onion Magic!
*SPIKE® Tenderizing Magic

So far we have used the SPIKE® Garlic Magic! and SPIKE® Onion Magic! on steak, the SPIKE® Lemon Pepper Magic! on some beautiful baked cod and thank goodness we had the SPIKE® HotNSpicy Magic! on hand recently when we were making Dirty Rice out of the box because we were missing a seasoning packet but were able to make up the flavor with the SPIKE® HotNSpicy Magic!

We have enjoyed experimenting and using these different spices so much, that I have arranged for one lucky reader of The Megalomaniac Mommy to win a Spike Seasoning Prize Pack!!
