Pampers Invites You To Say #ThankYouNurses + Giveaway – Ends 11/25

After delivering 5 babies at my favorite local hospital, I have had my fair share of nurses and care givers. During each of my hospital stays, there was always that one nurse that I connected with, however I had never connected so well with a nurse as I did when Joey was born.

I will never forget arriving at the hospital the morning Joey was born, not only because it was the day we welcomed our little man into the world but it was also the day I met an amazing nurse named Ashley.

Not only did Ashley do whatever she could to ensure that I was well taken care of, she provided the same care for Joey and even Alex. We also connected on Facebook after my hospital stay and when Joey had his surgery back in 2013, Ashley made sure she was able to come check in on us.

Although Ashley has since relocated, we are still in contact, and now she is a mom too.

I know that I thanked Ashley over and over for her care and attention while I was in the hospital but honestly, there is no way to put into words just how thankful I am that she was my nurse that Sunday morning.

Fun Thanksgiving Books for Kids

Now that we are into November, we’ve been doing more fun fall things and we are anxiously awaiting Thanksgiving. For us, Thanksgiving is the beginning of the holiday season and it means we get to spend a lot of time together and with our extended family.

This fall, we have two new books to share with you just in time for Thanksgiving.

Just A Special Thanksgiving

Since I was a kid, I have loved the Little Critter series by Mercer Mayer, and have managed to grow quite the collection over the years. Yes, I’m in my late 30’s and still collecting Little Critter books. This fall, Little Critter is back with Little Critter: Just a Special Thanksgiving.

With this book, Little Critter is about to have an unforgetful Thanksgiving as he shares Thanksgiving with the whole community. Starting with a school play and then a surprise dinner for everyone in Critterville, your kids will love to celebrate along with Little Critter and his family and they give thanks.

This book is another super cute addition to the series and I am looking forward to sharing it with the kids.

Thanksgiving at the Tappletons’

Thanksgiving at the Tappletons’ is a beautifully illustrated book that shares the lesson that there is more to Thanksgiving than eating. This updated version of the story from 1982 really brings author Eileen Spinelli’s Thanksgiving story to life.

I actually remember listening to this story in elementary school and I look forward to sharing it with the kids as well.

Buy It

You can pick up your own copies of these great books at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and on Amazon. If you want to order these books right now, click on the image of the book to be taken directly to Amazon.

Give Them the Good Stuff with Meal Mixers from Stella & Chewy’s

Since we have welcomed Balty into our home, we have been adjusting things here and there to meet his needs. So far we have found out that his favorite place to sleep, other than on his blanket, is curled up in the corner of our couch. We also know that he is a peanut butter fanatic, he loves to chew on things so he is stocked up on bones and stuffies, and he loves treats.

One thing we have yet to find that is a perfect match for Balty is his food. Let’s just say, everything we have tried so far makes him SUPER gassy and makes us want to burn the house down. We also have a problem with Balty eating human food since we eat so many things that he loves, like meat, so we want him to have food that will take the attention away from the table and bring him back to his dish.

On our hunt for food that Balty enjoys, we were introduced to Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers which are an excellent way to add an extra boost of raw food nutrition to Balty’s existing diet.

About Meal Mixers

Meal Mixers from Stella & Chewy’s bring your pet closer to their ancestral diet because it is packed with 95% nutrient-rich meat, organs and bone and complimented by organic fruits and vegetables as well as added probiotics and antioxidants.

Meal Mixers, as well as all other Stella & Chewy’s products, are made without grains, glutens, fillers, artificial preservatives, colorings, added hormones, or antibiotics.

Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers are freeze-dried to keep all of that great nutrition and flavor locked inside making them ready to feed from the minute you open the bag!

Just Mix It In

Since Meal Mixers come ready to serve, you can just open the bag and mix them right in with your dog’s regular food. To make it even easier, Meal Mixers comes with its own scoop to make measuring a breeze and keep meal time mess free!

And Serve

Once you have added Meal Mixers to your dog’s dish serve and watch them enjoy it!

Meal Mixers are available in 4 different protein options, Stella’s Super Beef, Chewy’s Chicken, Tantalizing Turkey, and Savory Salmon & Cod and they also come in 3 different sizes (3.5oz, 9oz, and 18oz).

An independent taste test study conducted at a leading university (University Wisconsin-Madison) showed that 9 out of 10 dogs prefer their food with Meal Mixers.

The Stella & Chewy’s Chicken Meal Mixers have been a hit with Balty and if he has it his way, we will be picking up some more!

Green Bay Progams in Need of Holiday Donations

As you can imagine, the holidays are the busiest time of year for different charitable organizations that help individuals and families during the holiday season. It is becayse of programs like these that a lot of people are able to celebrate the holidays and we like to do whatever we can to help.

If you are looking for a way to make a donation this season, the following programs in the Green Bay area are in need:

Toys for Tots
Donate new, unwrapped toys at a local store or Salvation Army drop off to be used for the annual Toys for Tots program. Toys are accepted and distributed up until Christmas. You can make a monetary donation as well.

Paul’s Pantry
The pantry is in need of food donations to help put together holiday food baskets for families. The pantry is also in need of volunteers to assit in handling food as they process nearly 20,000lbs of food daily. No need to sign up to volunteer, just show up to help!

Bay Area Humane Society
People are the only ones in need during the holidays. This time of year happens to be a big time for people to surrender animals and strays to be picked up. Consider making a donation to the shelter to help feed the animals or provide general care. There are multiple ways you can donate to the shelter.

Salvation Army Christmas Campaign
This campaign is one of the biggest in Brown County and they are always in need of bell ringers to help spread the word and bring in donations. Consider signing up to ring the bells as a family.

Be sure to watch for more ways to help this holiday season.
