When you have a family as large as ours, you tend to stock up when things are on sale or you shop at wholesale stores and buy in bulk. Buying in bulk is something that we do quite often and also something we wouldn’t be able to do without our local Costco.
For years, I have wanted a Costco here in Green Bay and I was beyond thrilled when we finally got one almost two years and I know I’m not the only one who was excited!
Costco, first opened in 1976 under the Price Club name, was in a converted airplane hangar on Morena Boulevard in San Diego. Originally serving only small businesses, the company found it could achieve far greater buying clout by also serving a selected audience of non-business members. With that change, the growth of the warehouse club industry was off and running. In 1983, the first Costco warehouse location was opened in Seattle. Costco became the first company ever to grow from zero to $3 billion in sales in less than six years. When Costco and Price Club merged in 1993, the combined company, operating under the name PriceCostco, had 206 locations generating $16 billion in annual sales.
The great thing is that Costco is expanding in the Fox Valley with a new store opening in November in Grand Chute. To help celebrate the new store, Costco was kind enough to send us some of our favorite Kirkland Signature products. Within the past 20 years, the Kirkland Signature brand has evolved and grown to include more than 300 quality products, with many more to come!
Whenever we visit Costco, you can bet our cart is overflowing with these items and many more to keep everyone in our house happy and to ensure we have a nice stock at home for those inconvenient moments you usually run out. We really like to avoid those moments.
Yes, there are other wholesale stores we could visit however we choose Costco for a variety of reasons and one of those is that they have a larger selection of the items we prefer to purchase. Costco has a beautiful product section, amazing cuts of meat, delicious baked goods and so much more! Another one of the things we really, really love about Costco is how clean it is every time we visit the store.
This weekend, Monster Jam took over the Resch Center in Green Bay and they got down and dirty. Before the show kicked off, Alex took Alexander and Ellie over to the Party in the Pits so they could get a really good look at the trucks.
This was Ellie’s first time seeing the monster trucks and she couldn’t believe how big they were. Her favorite was Scooby Doo.
After the Party in the Pits, it was time for the boys to find their seats at get ready for the show, which of course didn’t disappoint!
They got to see some serious jumps and flips. It was pretty exciting.
The loved every minute of the entire show once again.
The boys really liked the show this year because of the new hybrid dirt track that helped maximize jumps and according to Zack it was pretty awesome watching the dirt fly when the trucks were doing doughnuts on the track.
All in all, it was another great show put on by Monster Jam and the boys are excited to return next year and Ellie and I are both excited to attend our first show.
You can catch the last showing of Monster Jam in Green Bay on Sunday, April 12th at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for youth ages 2-12 and $22 for adults.
