As you may remember, the boys in my house (especially Alex and Zack) are hardcore gamers. Alexander has been learning over the years but has not developed a deep love just yet. Gaming with daddy

They both love to spend time blowing things up, role playing and what not and our XBOX360 has had so much use in the last 7 years that we are actually looking at replacing it with a new one sometime in the near future.

When it comes to gaming, I am all for supporting the cause and like to make sure the boys have the games they enjoy. Video games aren’t exactly cheap and now that we have another baby on the way, they are not at the top of my shopping list unless I can snag them with a really great deal.

Recently I have been hearing the boys talk about Far Cry 3 and how bad they both want to play it so of course, I do what I do best and turn to the internet and hunt for a good deal.

Well, today is the day to save big money on Far Cry 3 on Amazon because it is the Gold Box Deal of the Day, today, January 22nd!!!

I’m pretty sure that I am going to have some happy boys in my house once this new game arrives (hopefully this will allow me to get some much needed rest without being interrupted!)

Apples to Apples now available in the XBOX Marketplace

Back in October, I mentioned that one of our favorite family games, Apples to Apples was coming to the XBOX Marketplace.

I am pleased to report that Apples to Apples is now available for download from XBox LIVE Arcade*! Outwit and anticipate your opponent’s preferences in this hilarious word comparison game that requires strategic thinking. Connect with friends and family this Holiday Season- in the same room or across the world. Share play time in an online game and advocate for your selections via XBox LIVE Chat! Apples to Apples features single-player, local and online modes for up to 6 players.

Apples to Apples comes packed with all-new customizable play modes, vibrant backgrounds, and Golden Apple cards, which can be used to change the rules in fun new ways. Participants can choose between 16 animated avatars such as Pirate Apple, Quarterback Apple and Ballerina Apple!

This family favorite challenges players to outwit and anticipate the actions of others while taking into consideration personality, preferences, and individual senses of humor!

Since we downloaded this game, our family has been hooked and I am happy to say that I am the current reigning champion!

SpongeBob’s Surf & Skate Roadtrip

Last Friday night, after the Alex departed to work for his mandatory overtime shift, I broke out the newest video game in our XBOX360 Kinect collection, SpongeBob’s Surf & Skate Roadtrip.

Let’s just say, the kids had a blast!
Even Zack was surfing and skating and he’s on crutches!!

The little Alexander had a hard time trying to navigate things but still had lots of fun trying!

If you’re looking for a new game to add to your family’s collection, we highly recommend SpongeBob’s Surf & Skate Roadtrip for the XBOX360 Kinect.

Our family loves to play the game Apples to Apples. We have both the Apples to Apples Jr. and the original in our home. We were first introduced to this game at a family game night when the 2 older kids were in elementary school.

Now the news has hit that Mattel’s Apples to Apples game is going to get connected with digital, social and mobile play this winter!!

This holiday season, Apples to Apples™ will delight players and bring families together using PlayStation Network for PlayStation^®3and Xbox LIVE^® Arcade for Xbox 360^®, just before expanding onto Facebook and mobile devices. The digital versions of Apples to Apples™ will feature social gaming connectivity capabilities, allowing family and friends to share or play anytime, anywhere – in the same room or on opposite sides of the world!

I’m not sure which will be more addictive but I’m pretty sure I will be playing A LOT of Apples to Apples on Facebook!

On Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360and PlayStation Network for PS^®3 the game will feature single-player, local and online modes for up to six players.
