Crayola NYC VIP* Weekend

Where to begin is the question!
This past Friday, the Libby and I both boarded a plane for the first time.
Our destination – New York via a transfer in Detroit.
Why – a Crayola NYC VIP* Weekend (*Very Important Pixie)
Where – The W hotel in Times Square

I guess I should begin with what it was like flying for the first time.
We both LOVED it!
Flying was absolutely AMAZING!

I am also pleased to report that we successfully navigated both Detroit Metro Airport and LaGuardia Airport.

Thank you!
I am mighty impressed as well.

Once we landed in New York and made our way down to the baggage claim area, we were able to locate the group of moms and daughters who were sharing in this amazing weekend with us.
(At this point, I could barely hear because my ears were all screwed up from the flight.)
From the airport, we climbed into the van with 2 other moms ( @YourFunFamily and @MIsaacMom ) and their daughters.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we received awesome Pop Art Pixies TShirts, bags, VIP* tags and a Pop At Pixies Passport!

Here is a close up of our Pop Art Pixie Avatars

After we had all of our goodies, we were off to our room on the 53rd floor of The W Times Square.

We were AMAZED when we entered the room.

And the view was unreal!

Once we got over the initial shock of being in NYC and a quick phone call home we were off to get ready for the VIP* Premiere Party!
But…more on that tomorrow!
Until then, I leave you with this…….

**The Libby and I were invited to the VIP* Pop Art Pixie NYC event by Crayola. All of our travel accommodations, meals, incidentals and samples of Pop Art Pixies craft projects were provided by Crayola. **

Excitement + Nerves = Me

In less then 36 hours, the Libby and I will be boarding a plane for the first time.
We will be traveling to new places for the first time.
We will be seeing New York for the first time.
As the day is rapidly approaching, not only has the sheer excitement of it all arrived, but so have the nerves.
I’m freaked out about flying.
I’m freaked out about missing a flight.
I’m freaked out about getting lost in the airport.
Needless to say, I’m a real bundle of joy right now.
In all honesty, I can’t wait to just get the first flight over with.
After that first flight, I will know what it’s like.
I’ll know what to expect.
I’ll know how the Libby will react.
But until that first part of our journey is out of the way,
I will continue to be a bundle of excitement and nerves.
Wish us luck!

I’m hoping I can find some time to post an update while we are gone and at least share a picture or two over the weekend.
If not, I’ll see you Monday and I’m sure I will have tons to tell you!

XOXO
Annie

In Other News…………

I just finished watching tonight’s episode of Glee and I have to say, Gwyneth Paltrow did not disappoint!

If I could find a video to share of my favorite part, the Umbrella/Singing in the Rain mash up, I totally would.

If you missed it, I suggest you get over to Hulu and check it out!

Cradle Rock Review

My 2 year old, Alexander, is a musical child. He loves to listen to it, sing with it and dance to it. When he was an infant and moved from his bassinet in our room to his crib in the room he shares with his brother, we had to come up with an easy way to blur out the background noise of the house. This was solved by a boombox and a cd of lullabies. I think it is because of that music, my kid has the music in him.

These days, he has grown out of the ‘lullaby’ stage and has moved on to Cradle Rock!

Yes, you heard me right!

Cradle Rock!

Cradle Rock is a series of children’s lullaby albums that are produced and created by Brash Music and Treetop Records.

Cradle Rock uses vibraphones, glockenspiels and mellotrons to turn iconic songs and albums by top artists such as Kenny Chesney and Johnny Cash into naptime-friendly listening material. With Cradle Rock, parents can introduce their children to some of the greatest albums ever recorded including the first ever urban album turned into lullabies, Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

My little man’s favorite is Cradle Rock Pop which is lullaby versions of songs recorded by Michael Jackson. Or as the cover suggests, ‘Thrillabys’!

He LOVES Beat It, Billie Jean and Human Nature.

Alexander has also been getting his country on and has checked out Cradle Rock Country which is lullaby versions of songs recorded by Johnny Cash and Kenny Chesney.

You can check out Alexander’s favorite song, Beat It from Cradle Rock Pop below!
