If you have children who were born in the 90’s you probably have heard of Rocko’s Modern Life. My oldest, Zack, was born in 1999 however he was fortunate enough to experience Rocko is all of his glory thanks to it’s being aired on Nickelodeon. Rocko’s Modern Life centers around the adventures of Rocko, a wallaby and his life in the city of O-Town.
Now, this wonderful series is being made available on a 2 disc dvd set by Shout Factory! The set features all 26 wild and wacky adventures.
My children have enjoyed watching the entire first season of Rocko’s Modern Life over the last week have even pointed out that they recognize some of the people doing the character voice-overs from other popular Nickelodeon shows. The hit series boasts an all-star voice cast – Carlos Alazraqui (CatDog, Reno 911), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants, Transformers animated series), Charlie Adler (The Super Hero Squad Show, Transformers), and Doug Lawrence (SpongeBob SquarePants, Camp Lazlo).
Have I ever mentioned that my Alex is often classified as a nerd?
He really is.
From what I’ve heard, he always has been.
Yes, there was a little bit of jock mixed in there too.
He may have played football and rugby but he was also very much into things like G.I. Joe, Star Wars and of course…..
Transformers!
Transformers Beast Wars began airing when he was 11 years old…..and HE.LOVED.IT.
Needless to say now that it is available on DVD, he has introduced Alexander to the show as well….and he is HOOKED!
Transformers: Beast Wars Season One is available on a 4 DVD set and features all 26 episodes plus some great bonus features including an art gallery, original character models and creating a new breed of Transformer.

When Zack and Libby were little, I spent A LOT of time watching The Wild Thornberry’s on Nickelodeon. The show became a part of our everyday life.
I still have episodes recorded on VHS.
That’s how much we watched it.
Needless to say they were very excited to share the show with their little brother and watch all of season 1 this past Sunday.
The Wild Thornberry’s follows the Thornberry family as they travel the world in their Communications Vehicle (or CommVee) looking for rare animals to film. After an encounter with an African shaman, their youngest child Eliza was given the power to speak to animals! Every episode in this adventure-packed DVD set follows Eliza as she comes face-to-face with an assortment of animals, continents and danger. Encounter wildlife in all its natural glory and eavesdrop on Eliza’s conversations with silverback gorillas, pythons, crested grebes, tapirs, capybaras, antelopes and opossums while the CommVee travels on!
Here is a quick clip
This show if funny and educational all in one and I am super excited that I had the chance to share this show with Alexander along with Zack and Libby.
