Become a Certified Santa Helper with North Pole Kids’ Club + Giveaway – Ends 11/27

My kids, they are just like me, crazy about Christmas. As soon as Halloween is over, we are all geared up for the holiday season. While some families do put their trees up on November 1st, we do wait until after Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t stop me from having some holiday fun with the kids. We love to work on holiday crafts, make reindeer food, and find free coloring pages to enjoy.

This year, thanks to the folks behind  The North Pole Kids’ Club®, our kids are set with everything they need to be certified Santa Helpers!

What is an Official Elf Kit?

An Official Elf Kit is what every Santa’s helper gets and it contains, an authentic elf hat, enclosed in the kit. It’s so fleece-y soft that kids have been known to wear it to bed! Choose green or pink for your favorite little elf when placing an order.

Becoming a certified Santa’s helper comes with cool benefits like an official membership card to the North Pole Kids’ Club. Children discover they can quickly earn their Elf Certificate, ready for hanging! Inside the kit is an extra special surprise – Santa’s Magic Key tied with a red ribbon! This is the real way he gets inside so many houses on December 24! Kids are told to hang the key on their front door on Christmas Eve and Santa uses it to make his delivery.

Each kit has an illustrated 64-page handbook and a 16-page activity book that spells out everything in age-appropriate storytelling. Older siblings are eager to help younger ones do festive activities or read aloud the story of Finley the Elf, keeping the magic alive another holiday season! This has been a great activity for my kids to enjoy together and Alexander really enjoys reading to his younger siblings.

Sweeten Your Season with Mint Chocolate Pudding Fudge

Even though the holidays are behind us, there are still holiday events to attend. I know many companies host their holiday events in January as well as many families.

Since the holiday season isn’t truly over, it’s always good to have a quick and delicious recipe on hand so you can whip something together to bring along to different events.

When we visit someone else’s home for a holiday event, we like to bring a special little treat along and I’m pretty sure I have found our new favorite, Mint Chocolate Pudding Fudge, a quick and easy recipe from Kraft.

If you are looking for something simple yet delicious and sweet to share then this is the recipe for you.

To get started, you will need the following ingredients.

  • pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, divided
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • tsp. peppermint extract
  • pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding
  • cups powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
  • 1/3 cup finely crushed starlight mints

Once you have all of your ingredients on hand, you will want to prep your pan. Line 8-inch square pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides.

After you have your pan prepped, it’s time to start making some delicious fudge!

Microwave 4 oz. Baker’s chocolate, 6 Tbsp. butter and 1/2 cup water in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended.

Next you will add the peppermint extract and dry JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding mix and stir until well blended.

Your next step is to add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, stirring after each addition until well blended.

Once everything is well blended, you are ready to pour your mixture into your prepared pan and press it into an even layer with the back of your spatula.

To finish your fudge, microwave the remaining butter and chocolate in large microwaveable bowl for 1-1/2 minutes or until butter is melted and stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Pour over fudge and spread to completely cover bottom layer. Then top with 2/3 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows and 1/3cup finely crushed starlight mints and refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm.

Remove fudge from foil, cut, and serve!

This was my first time making fudge and now that I know how easy it is, I will be doing it again! This recipe was easy and delicious and kids loved it too!

Sharing the Bread by Pat Zietlow Miller

Even though it is October, I am one of those people who starts to get eager about the holidays the minute October 1st hits. I love fall and everything that comes with it, even books for the kids to enjoy together.

Now, I know Thanksgiving is over a month away but I wanted to share this book with you in time for you to pick it up before the holiday because Sharing The Bread (ages 4-8) is the perfect read-aloud book to celebrate the Thanksgiving tradition.

In this beautiful ode to Thanksgiving, set at the turn of the century, a large family works together to make their special meal. Mama prepares the turkey; Daddy tends the fire; Sister kneads the bread dough; and Brother bastes the bird as it roasts. Everyone—from Grandma and Grandpa to the littlest baby—has a special job to do.

I haven’t shared this book with the kids yet as I want to wait until we get closer to Thanksgiving but I have read through it myself and think it is a great book. From beautiful illustrations to a great story, I know this is a book that my kids will truly enjoy when we do read it.

If you are looking for a book to share with your children this Thanksgiving, definitely give Sharing The Bread a try.
