I recently had a chance to read Heather Gudenkauf’s latest book, These Things Hidden and it left me wanting to read more from her!
This book tells the story of Allison Glenn and her life after serving five years in prison for an unconscionable murder. It is a book filled with twists and turns that constantly has you on the edge of your seat. I didn’t know what to expect from one minute to the next and could not put it down. It definitely grabbed my interested and kept surprising me.
Honestly, I was so sucked into this book that I read the entire thing in 6.5 hours. It was really that good.
Heather Gudenkauf is the New York Times Bestselling Author of The Weight of Silence. Prior to have read this book, I had not read any of her work but did order The Weight of Silence the minute I finished These Things Hidden.
If you would like a chance to win a copy of These Things Hidden, head on over to the BookTribClubbetween February 18th through February 25th and 12 NOON EST for your chance to win 1 of 10 copies of Thewse Things Hidden signed by Heather! At this very time 12 years ago, I was laying in an uncomfortable bed at Bellin Hospital attempting to sleep while in labor.
I did somehow manage to catch a few zzzz’s here and there.
Less than 7 hours later, I was a mom.
Yes.
12 years ago, on February 12th, 1999, I became a mom to an adorable little man we have now coined Zack.
Over the past 12 years, I have watched that little boy turn into a little man and become one of the most delightful kids I know (and I’m not just saying this because I’m his mom!).
Zack has been a great kid and really, I couldn’t have asked for more!
Happy Golden Birthday Zack, I love you and I hope you have an awesome 12th birthday!
Today we will be out and about having some birthday fun!
A trip to the movies to see Gnomeo & Juliet, to the Packer Pro Shop to purchase his new Aaron Rodgers jersey and then to dinner at Curly’s Pub at Lambeau Field.
I have a toddler.
An almost 3 year old little boy.
He likes to touch everything….
even the things he shouldn’t.
Not only do I have a toddler, but I have a touchscreen computer and a huge flat screen TV in the living room.
The room we spend A LOT of time in throughout the day.
So, what does a flat screen TV + a touchscreen computer + an almost 3 year old toddler = ??
Let me tell you….all of that is the combination for some dirty screens!!
Seriously!
I’ve had to wipe cheesy fingerprints of our TV before.
We have tried a variety of products to use on the screens to clean them properly but couldn’t find one that worked just right and didn’t leave any streaks behind.
Now, if you can recall, a while ago I reviewed Brilliant Lenses Cleaner and we loved how great it worked to clean our glasses. Now, the same company has introduced us to Brilliant Screen Cleaning Wipes.
The Brilliant Screen Cleaning Wipes provide gentle, superior cleaning to any electronic screen and removes dust, dirt, finger prints and makeup while imparting an invisible, durable barrier that protects screens 50x more form scratching. Helps protect against re-soiling to keep your screen brilliantly clean!
These wipes work in 2 parts. First you use a wet wipe to clean the surface and then a dry wipe to dry the surface. They are easy to use and they do a great job!

I’m sure you’ve heard, unless you live under a rock, the Green Bay Packers WON the Super Bowl last night and are bringing the Lombardi trophy home!
We’re just a LITTLE excited around here!
I’ll admit, when it was over…I cried.
To see the Packers on top of the world after all this organization has been through the last few years was an amazing feeling.
After watching the Lombardi trophy be presented to the team, we hopped in the van and made our way to Lambeau Field.
Things there were CRAZY!
Here are a few pictures I was able to snap.
Words CANNOT describe what this town was like last night. I tried to take some videos with my phone, but apparently I did it wrong because they didn’t work, but thanks to some other awesome people in the area, I am able to give you an idea of what it was like on the streets of Green Bay last night.
This video is shot along Lombardi Avenue from the parking lot of Lambeau Field.
The next video is on the steps of Lambeau at the Oneida Entrance.
To be part of the celebration in this city last night and to have my children experience it with me was absolutely amazing!
GO PACK GO!!!
GO PACK GO!!!
It is a GREAT day to be a Packer fan!
The weather around here hasn’t been the best lately.
It’s been bone chillingly cold.
The lower half of the state had more snow dumped on them in 2 days then they usually do all winter.
As for us, we are running out of things to do to entertain the little Alexander.
The last few days, we’ve been visiting a local indoor play place (more to come on that in another post!) His favorite thing they have to offer so far…..half of a wooden swing set, containing his favorite part…the fort and slide!
Needless to say, he’s constantly on the climb.
Up the ladder.
Down the slide.
Up the ladder.
Down the slide.
It goes on.
And on.
And on.
Is it Spring yet?
