Dear Man Who Let Me Get Away Years Ago,
After months of not hearing from you other than the totally out of the blue text message here and there, I am glad that when you needed someone to talk to that you reached out to me.
I answered.
I listened.
I listened.
And…
I listened.
I listened when you came over and told me all about having to call the cops on your girlfriend for hitting you.
I listened to you tell me about how she was arrested.
I sat there and listened to it all.
Shit.
I even gave you some advice.
AND…
I EVEN FELT SORRY FOR YOU…..
for a second.
I told you that you need to get her out of YOUR house.
You proceeded to let her stay.
Obviously you are still together since you have gone silent with me once again.
If you are going to keep letting this psycho hose beast control your life and who you are and are not allowed to talk to then do NOT look to me for advice again.
Living in a place where our Winters are mostly spent indoors thanks to all of the snow and low below zero temperatures, we are always looking for new ways for the kids to burn off some energy while indoors. We also like to try to keep things free or low cost since we are saving to buy a home.
Earlier this week when it was a little chilly out and Alexander (the toddler) and Libby were quite rambunctious, I popped in the Storyland Yoga DVD, Produced by Playful Planet, and let them have at it.
They really enjoyed it!
Storyland Yoga is a fun-filled adventure that infuses children with an eco-conscious message. Two unique stories, “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek” engage a child’s imagination through storytelling. Kid’s learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children giving them greater focus and increased clarity. Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying ‘organic time’ with their children.
I found that it was very easy for the kids to follow along with what the kids in the DVD were doing. Here is a little video.
Storyland Yoga is recommended for children ages 3 – 8 (my Libby is almost 11 and loved it). Not to mention, both of them took a really nice nap after their Yoga session and Alexander keeps asking if he can do his “Oga” again!

As you may know, I have been working hard at shedding pounds and getting healthy. So far I have lost 29 pounds, quit smoking, and given up some of my favorite not good for me foods.
One food that I love is cereal and there are many different flavors out there that I enjoy. My top favorite though….Lucky Charms. I love me some marshmallows! However, I am a big fan of Multi-Grain Cheerios as well but I use them as a snack item.
Since weight management is more than just watching the calories, I have to make sure that I am getting the proper nutrients from the foods I am eating and by eating Big G cereals I know that I am including whole grain and nutrient-dense foods into my body.
Every Big G cereal contains at least 8 grams of whole grains per serving, with more than 20 Big G cereals delivering 16 grams or more. (At least 48 grams of whole grain are recommended daily.) A diet high in whole grain has been found to help with diabetes and weight management, and may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.
Frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights (and that includes people who choose sweetened cereals).Cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters. Cereal consumption as part of an overall healthy lifestyle may play a role in maintaining a healthy body mass index.
According to “The Belly Fat Prescription,” by Dr. Travis Stork, MD and host of The Doctors, a large amount of research has shown that belly fat carries more health risks than fat stored elsewhere. In his book, Dr. Stork also offers several additional “Laws of Leanness,” including:
If you love to graze: Nosh all day long on your favorite fruits and vegetables to help keep your belly full
If you love fatty foods: discover which fats can actually strip away pounds
If you love soda: substitute more delicious drinks that can help you lose up to four pounds in four weeks.
You can visit Whole Grain Nation for more tips and information about the benefits of whole grain and how Big G cereals can be a convenient and tasty way to help you manage your weight by incorporating whole grain into your day.
For those of my readers who are learning to manage their weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, take a moment and enter to win a copy of “The Lean Belly Prescription: The fast and foolproof diet and weight-loss plan from America’s top urgent-care doctor” by Dr. Travis Stork (Host of The Doctors) and a VIP coupon for one Big G cereal!

Yesterday, if you were following along with my boring everyday life on Twitter, you know that I had the Libby home sick from school in addition to the terrorizing toddler Alexander. When I am tending to one kid who is sick and one bursting with ooodles of energy, I try to find something to entrance the toddler with.
You know like shiny things.
Food.
TV.
On this particular day, I went for the TV.
He had been asking for over an hour if it was Hotdog time yet.
Hotdog time in our house is when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on.
He calls it hotdog because they do the hotdog dance at the end of the episode.
Anyways……
I turned on Disney and got all ready to watch the hotdog show with him
Out came Mickey and then…..
then my cable froze.
And then it played.
then it froze.
and played.
and froze.
So, I did what I know how to do best when I have something I need to complain about during the day and the only ears around to listen are that of children.
I tweeted.
My first tweet went like this:
Getting ready to open a can whoopass on @att uverse since our service keeps going in & out while toddler is trying to watch MMCH. Grrrrrr!
And then like magic Hotdog worked again.
For about 2 minutes.
And after a few more minutes, I tweeted again.
Damn u @att Had to switch to a DVD so I can make lunch. Tell me again y I pay so much for crappy service.
Apparently, when you tweet something like that…..you can get answers.
Not long after I sent that second tweet, I had a manager with the AT&T Customer Care Social Media Team reply to me asking for my account number and what was going on.
Shortly after that, I got a tweet from the official Twitter source for AT&T.
Then…..when I sat down to turn Ellen on after getting back from scooping Zack from school, our cable service was still all kinds of freaky.
And then, it was like AT&T knew that I was going to send out some kind of not so nice tweet and my phone rang.
It was an AT&T Customer Service Rep who heard we were having difficulty with our service and he could have a technician at our house TODAY to fix the problem.
He let me know someone would be over between 4p-9p to resolve the issue.
We hung up the phone at 3:31pm.
The AT&T Tech was here by 4:15pm.
He was gone before 5:00pm and we had everything working properly!
I was AMAZED with the great customer service I experienced.
I never had to call AT&T, sit on hold and schedule an appointment for a tech to come to the house and wait a few days.
Thank you AT&T for providing us with OUTSTANDING customer service today!
