Father’s Day Traditions

For years all my sister and I heard that my dad wanted for Father’s Day was a new hose reel.
Every time we were told he wanted one, we obliged and made the purchase.
These days he asks for things such as gift cards so he can save up for a certain item.
This year he wants gift cards towards a remote starter for his new car.
Yes, he gets expensive but so did my sister and I over the years.
Needless to say, I’m sure he’ll be pleased once again this year.

When it comes to Father’s Day within my own house, things are a little different.
My Alex doesn’t really ask for anything other than a few extra hours of sleep or to get out of chores for the day.
Yeah, he is just that sweet.
Even though he doesn’t usually ask for anything I try to have the kids do something nice for him.
This year I am still trying to figure out just what to do.

I’ve been looking around online and have visited Tiny Prints a few times debating on making him a custom Father’s Day card.

This year, I think the Alex’s biggest Father’s Day gifts are that we are expecting another child and that he will be adopting Zack and Libby the first week of June.

What else could I possibly give him for Father’s Day to show him just how much we love him other than that?
Any suggestions???

Cravings

I have always experienced cravings during each of my pregnancies.
Throughout all of them, I have craved grilled cheese, fries and ranch dressing…..preferably from Denny’s
With Alexander I craved pickles. A LOT.
But never pickles with any things so there were no strange food combinations.
Just dill sandwich pickles straight from the jar.
So far in this pregnancy, I crave soup.
French onion soup to be exact.
In mass quantities.
We have become regulars at Applebee’s for their soup and salad lunch special just so I can eat as much French onion soup as I want for $5.99.
Oh and I am loving black olives.
That happened the first time I was pregnant too.
I eat those straight from the can too.
If I’m already having cravings like this at 6 weeks, what am I going to do for the next 34???

Pregnancy now versus the last 3 times

I was 19 when I was pregnant with my first child, 20 at delivery.
My second pregnancy occurred while I was 20 and I delivered 7 months after turning 21.
With Alexander, I became pregnant at 28 and delivered him at 29.
This time around….I’m 32. By the time the baby arrives I will be 33.
Pregnancy in my 20’s was a cake walk compared to pregnancy in my 30’s.

My first 2 pregnancies I was booming with energy and was always on the go.
With Alexander I had spurts of energy and was active.
This pregnancy…..this one is kicking my ass!

I have been in bed before midnight for the last few weeks, which if you know me, you know how odd that type of behavior is.
I have also experienced more sickness this time as well.
I feel like I spend way to much time praying to the porcelain god.
Oh, and the food and smell aversions are unbelievable.
I can’t stand the small of BBQ sauce right now or rotisserie chicken.
These are 2 things I usually enjoy…..A LOT!
And sloppy joes…..they are off limits too.

And did I mention the part that if I do not make a mad dash to the bathroom first thing every morning I have been known to pee myself??
It’s RIDICULOUS!!!

I go in next Thursday the 26th for my first Dr. appointment and ultrasound and am super excited.
It’s time to put an end to everyone saying I’m having twins!
More to come next week!
