Anne is a 30-something full-time SAHM mom of 5 ranging from 3 to 17 and grandma of 1 who resides in Ashwaubenon (Green Bay) Wisconsin. She started blogging in 2008 as a way to regain her sanity. She enjoys coffee, chocolate, cheeseburgers and vodka along with spending time with her husband and kids.
Being from Wisconsin, there is one thing I think of when I hear about East Troy and that is Alpine Valley Music Theatre. For those, like me, who travel to East Troy to see amazing concerts, did you know there is so much more to do?
East Troy plays host to a variety of events throughout the community and a good time is sure to be had by all.
From the concerts Thursday nights on the Square to the farmer’s market and Cheese Fest, you will definitely find something to fill your time. Check out this list of events to see what is happening in the area this summer.
When I travel and meet people from other states they all ask me if I have cows at home since I live in Wisconsin.
Did you know that Wisconsin is filled with A LOT more than cows. There is sooooo much more to see. We have beautiful bodies of water, gorgeous parks, trails, beaches and more!
If you are ever in Wisconsin and want some ideas of what to do, please feel free to ask and I will point you in the right direction.
In the meantime, if you find yourself just traveling through the state and want to check out a few things, check out these great roadside attractions throughout the state.
For years I have wanted to get out of bed bright and early on a Sunday morning in June, get dressed, load up the family and participate in one of the Breakfast on the Farm events that takes place here in Wisconsin.
Every June (Dairy Month) different farms in different counties put on a huge event and invite people to come and enjoy breakfast and more.
This year, when I realized we missed the event in our county on June 1st, I quickly made plans to attend one the following Sunday in Oconto County.
So, on June 8th, Alex and I got up bright and early, took showers and got dressed, got the kids up and dressed, loaded them into the van and made our way to the Triple C Dairy Farm in Oconto Falls WI for the Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm.
Here we are riding the tractor from the field (parking lot) to the farm.
Once we made it over to the farm we met up with Alex’s parents and got in line for breakfast.
Waiting in line for breakfast.
Breakfast was an all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs with ham and cheese, sausage, yogurt, apple slices, cheese, milk, coffee, orange juice and ice cream. (Cost was $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12.)
Everyone enjoying their breakfast.
The pancakes were soooooooo delicious and even better once they were topped with fresh Wisconsin maple syrup. I could eat it everyday!
Once breakfast was done we made out way out to explore the rest of the farm but first, I had to snap a picture with the giant cow.
The kids enjoyed playing in the bounce houses, visiting the petting zoo, getting balloon animals and Ellie really liked getting her face painted.
There was so much to do and the weather was beautiful. It ended up being the perfect day to attend and we really enjoyed it. Alexander’s favorite part was when they fired up an old Case Steam Tractor and drove it around the property and blew the steam whistle a few times.
We had so much fun and are already looking forward to attending another breakfast on the farm next year. Thanks Triple C Farm for such a great day!
If there is one thing I cannot stand to hear my kids say, especially now that Summer vacation has arrived, is that they are bored. With a closet full of crafts, a basement full of games, a backyard like a park and so much more going on, there is always something for them to do.
In addition to finding things to do around home, we like to get out as a family and travel throughout the state of Wisconsin and find other fun things to do.

Hi, my name is Anne and I’ve had glasses since I was in the third grade. My eyesight, is HORRIBLE….absolutely horrible and unfortunately I have passed the bad eye gene onto at least one of my kids so far.
I wore ugly, thick lensed glasses from 3rd grade until I was a freshman in high school when my mom FINALLY let me get contacts.
It wasn’t until I got my first pair of contacts that I realized just how important it was for me to start protecting my eyes from UV rays. I believe this is when I developed a deep love for large (dark) sunglasses.
According to the leading experts in eyecare, it is difficult to isolate the amount of damage that ultrviolet radiation imposes on the eye over extended periods of time. Short-term damage can be hard to notice but over time, the sun can cause irreversible damage to all structures of the eye and tissues that are not protected.
So. Not. Cool.
While UV blocking contact lenses can provide some level of additional protection from UV exposure, ACUVUE® is the ONLY major brand of lenses that blocks approximately 97% 0f UV-B and 81% of UV-A rays as standard acroos their entire line of products!
Now that summer is upon us (last day of school is tomorrow for us) and we are going to be spending A LOT of time outside and in the sun, you can guarantee I will be wearing my ACUVUE® contact lenses when we are out and about along with my trusty sunglasses. It’s possible, you might….just might…find me on a beach on Friday wearing contacts, sunglasses and a hat to keep myself protected.
Eye health is something that is important to me since I’ve had glasses most of my life and I want to ensure that my kids protect their eyes too and I like to start them early!
