A few years ago, my mother-in-law visited the Philappines for work.  On her trip there and back she had a layover in Japan and spent that time exploring and she picked up a few things to bring home for our family.  One of the items she returned with were Pocky sticks, a delicious biscuit stick dipped in a chocolate cream.

Glico Pocky Sticks Chocolate Cream

From the first bite, we were all hooked.  The boxes she had returned home with did not last long and I found myself scavenging the internet to order more. (Hey, I was pregnant with Ellie during this time and they were sooooo good I HAD to have more!)

On her second trip to the Philippines, she stocked up on more.  Lesson learned.

Now here we are, 3 years later and I can finally purchase Pocky at a local retailer!

Since we were first introduced to Pocky, they have put out different flavors and a new product called Péjoy and our friends at Glico were kind enough to send us some to try.

While the Green Tea weren’t exaclty for us, we are big flans of the strawberry cream flavor and the new Péjoy.

The kids are already begging me to get some more and who am I to say no to more Pocky??

Protect Your Children from the Dangers of Lithium Coin Batteries

*This post is brought to you by our friends at Duracell.   I received a promotional item in order to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.*

Seriously, what is it with little kids and putting everything in their mouth?  They don’t seem to care what it is or where it came from and if it is shiny, you get bet it will find its way into their mouth.

While most of the things my little ones discover and put in their mouth are harmless doesn’t help me from worrying that something will end up in there that could really hurt them.

Lithium coin batteries can lead to serious injury or death if they are swallowed and every year there are thousands of cases of coin battery ingestions reported.

Duracell is doing their part to prevent battery ingestion by updating their packaging to be child resistant and placing warnings on the batteries themselves.

With the great infographic below, Duracell is hoping to raise awareness about this issue.

To prevent your children from injury, here are a few safety tips:

** Secure the battery compartments with tools or tape. (Coin batteries can be found in garage-door openers, medical devices, watches, some remote controls and those annoying greeting cards that sing or talk to you).

** When disposing batteries, wrap them in tape first.

** Keep ALL batteries out of reach of children.

She Dances

Last week, Ellie started a tot dance class through our park and rec department.

Every Tuesday morning this summer, we make our way to the community center and watch a group of little girls, ages 2-3 ‘dance’ for 30 minutes.  It is ADORABLE.

At her first class, Ellie was a little shy.

I think she spent more time running over to give me kisses that class then she actually did dancing.

By the end of the class, she was ready to dance.

After her first class, Alex and I decided that she needed a cute skirt and dance shoes to go with her pink leotard (none of these items are required for the class).

When they arrived in the mail over the weekend she was so excited.  All she wanted to do was dance.

Today she had her second class and when we pulled into the parking lot she squealed in glee and was ready to dance!  She did a great job at her second class and I think her favorite part was the spin.

What do you think?

After class was over she began to beg to go to class again.

I can’t wait to see what next week brings!

Now I’m off to shop for more cute dance clothes!

My name is Anne and I’m officially a dance mom.
