Get Rewarded with Hot Wheels

*This is a sponsored post brought to you by Lunchbox on behalf of Hot Wheels and Walmart.  All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.*

For as long as I can remember, Hot Wheels have been a part of my life.  I loved them as a kid, Zack loved them as a kid and now Alexander loves them so much that he has introduced Ellie and Joey to them.

Needless to say…there are Hot Wheels all over our house.  We actually own 3 storage cases that are filled with them and probably a hundred more that don’t have a case yet.

Hot Wheels

With a deep love for Hot Wheels in our home, you can bet they make an appearance under our Christmas tree every year.

Since we like to stock up during the holidays, we are happy to share the news that now through December 31st, you can earn points towards exclusive rewards when you purchase a qulaifying Hot Wheels product.

Yes, you read that correctly, you can now get rewarded for buying Hot Wheels when you register at hotwheelsrewards.com.

Getting points for your purchase is easy, you can watch a quick tutorial online and get your rewards account setup right away.  Once you have your account and you’ve purchased a qualifying Hot Wheels item, scan your receipt and earn points instantly!

Once you have logged enough points, you can redeem them for some awesome rewards like this cool Monster Jam Monster Mutt 1:64 car collectible.

Alexander has been a big fan of Monster Jam Monster Mutt since he went to Monster Jam for the first time in 2013.

I’m pretty sure I know what we will be redeeming our reward points for!  Alexander’s already been eyeing up the Hot Wheels Monster Jam 1:64 Grave Digger Vehicle and the Hot Wheels Super Loop Chase Race which will give him more than enough points to get the Monster Jam Monster Mutt collectible.  I guess Santa will have to be sure to stash some extra items under the tree.

If you are shopping for a Hot Wheels fan this holiday season, be sure to register for Hot Wheels Rewards and purchase qualifying products from your local Walmart to ensure you get more out of your purchase!

*Be sure to redeem your points for a reward by December 31st 2014 or they will be gone.*

Febreze Holiday Scents & Easy Apple Tart Recipe

*This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks on behalf of Febreze. I received compensation to write this post, and any opinions expressed are my own, and reflect my actual experience.*

Now that November has arrived, the holidays are just around the corner.  It is taking every fiber of my being to not start decorating for Christmas and put a tree up.  *I must wait until after Thanksgiving. I must wait until after Thanksgiving.*

Just because I can’t jump the gun and throw up Christmas throughout our home doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy the smells of the holidays before they arrive.

There are soooo many smells that go along with the holidays that I enjoy.  I love anything that is pumpkin spiced or apple cinnamon, the fresh Christmas tree scent and sugar cookie. All of these scents make me crave the holidays.

Thankfully, I don’t have to wait for the holidays to arrive to fill our home with these intoxicating smells.  Febreze has a complete line of holiday scents for the home, available at Walmart, and we have been busy putting them to use.

The Febreze Home for the Holidays Collection includes the scents of Apple Tart, Sugared Cranberry, Toasted Almond, Frosted Pine and Vanilla Latte.

I am in love with each of these scents!  Right now the Vanilla Latte is hanging out in my minivan via a vent clip, our half-bath/guest bath smells like sugared cranberry, and the kitchen is toasted almond one day and apple tart the next. When we head to Walmart this weekend  I will be picking up a very large supply of the  frosted pine.

Since I’ve been overwhelming my family with these delicious scents, I thought it was only right to indulge them in a little treat so Libby and I whipped up some easy apple pie tarts for dessert.

You can easily make these Mini Apple Pie Tarts for your friends and family following the recipe below.

Ingredients

-1/2 cup of water

-1/4 cup of sugar

-1/2 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 tsp vanilla

-2 tbsp flour

-a pinch of salt

-4 diced apples

-16 wonton wrappers

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 375*F.  Whisk the water, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and flour in a pot over medium heat.  Add the apples and stir until the liquid starts to boil and thicken.

2. Set the heat to low and cook, covered, for 12 to 15 minutes until the apples soften.

3. Press the wonton wrappers into a greased mini-muffin pan.  If you like sweeter tarts, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

4. Scoop the apple mixture into the wontons and bake for about 10 minutes.

5. Enjoy!

I Was Meant for This Job

In my life, all 35, almost 36, years of it, I have held an abundance of jobs.
I’ve been a housekeeper in a hotel.
I’ve been a cashier in a department store and a gas station.
I’ve been a child care provider and preschool teacher in a day care.
I’ve been a server, hostess and attendant in a restaurant.
I’ve been a delivery driver in a business filled with men.
I’ve been a customer service representative in a cubicle.
I’ve been a bartender in a bar.
I’ve been an insurance agent and salesperson knocking at the door.
I’ve been a blogger at a computer.
Of all the things I have been there is one that I was destined for.
I was meant to change diapers.
I was meant to wipe away tears.
I was meant to kiss boo-boos.
I was meant to lose countless hours of sleep.
I was meant to scare away monsters under the bed.
Of all the things I’ve done in my life and of all the jobs I’ve had, the one I was truly meant for is the job of mom.

I am a mom, before anything else.

My children are the reason I wake up every morning

and live and breathe every day.

I was meant for this job.

Suave Family Perks – Resourceful Mommy

To All The Skylers Out There

This is a picture of Skyler, a 14 year-old girl from my area (Green Bay WI) who took her own life last Friday, October 24th.

Skyler was a victim of bullying and couldn’t take the pain anymore and felt no one could help her.

As a mom of a 14 year old girl who is trying so hard to find the place where she fits in, this really hits home for me.  I cannot begin to imagine what her family is going through or the pain she was enduring for her to take her own life.

From what I have learned, Skyler was a bright girl who was funny, artistic, loved music and her family.

Please, if you have kids, talk to your children about bullying and how their words and actions can and will hurt others.

You can help Skyler’s family and their fight against bullying by making a donation to the National Bully Prevention Center in Skyler’s name.
