Playtime Just Got Better with the PortaPlay Activity Center

In a small home filled with 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and 3 children 8 and under, a giant dog and an infant occasionally, our house tends to get a little cramped. Who am I kidding? When everyone is in our home, we are practically on top of each other at times.

Since we don’t have a lot of space in our living areas, I like to find items that are easy to store away, items that grow with the kids, or items that can be used for more than one thing.

We were recently introduced to the PortaPlay Convertible Activity Center from Oribel and I cannot tell you just how much I love having this in our home because it does everything I mentioned above!

It is an activity center for an infant.

A table for older kids.

A place for kids to create.

Not only is this activity center 3 things in one but the paper dispenser can be removed, the legs can be raised and lowered and they fold away for easy storage! The stools are just the perfect height so they can be used when the table is at any level.

Fun for Infants

As a new grandma, I am very excited for Hazel to be able to use and enjoy the activity center this winter. I love all of the cute and colorful toys and I just know she is going to love it too!

To convert to the activity center, you just pop out the white circle in the center and the fillers for the toys and then pop the seat and toys in and it is ready to go! The seat is made of a soft and flexible fabric that holds baby while allowing them to turn in the seat and play with all of the toys.

Buy It

You can get your own Oribel PortaPlay Convertible Activity Center for $149.99, the PortaPlay Children’s Stools for $39.90 and the  PortaPlay Art Paper Roll Dispenser for $29.90.

Save on Gerber ® Lil’ Beanies(TM) at Target

Let’s talk about one of Joey’s favorite things….snack time. Or as he calls it, ‘nack time. If Joey had it his way, he would eat snack all day, every day.

Having a toddler that enjoys eating is great  seeing as how I have some picky eaters too. When it comes to Joey and his precious snack time, I like to make sure that he isn’t eating candy or sweets but I also like to have things that are quick and easy.

We recently discovered Gerber ® Lil’ Beanies(TM) at Target and they have quickly become one of Joey’s favorite snacks.

Gerber Lil’ Beanies is a nutritious snack made from navy beans that are packed with 2 grams of protein (9% Daily Value) and 1 gram of fiber per serving and they are not made with genetically engineered (GM) ingredients and have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Gerber® Lil’ Beanies(TM) are the perfect snack for Joey at home or on-the-go because they are mess free and easy enough for him to serve himself!

Gerber Lil’ Beanies are currently available in two flavors, Original and White Cheddar and Broccoli.

Win Some Skip Hop – Giveaway Ends 10/20

If your kids are anything like mine then I am sure when you head out the door somewhere that you are lugging all kinds of things with you. As our family has grown over the years, the amount of stuff that leaves the house with us has grown, exponentially.

Now that the kids are a little older, we have started letting them gather their own belongings before we are heading somewhere and we do so with the help of coordinating products from Skip Hop.

My love for Skip Hop products started when Alexander was younger and I discovered their adorable Ship Zoo Little Kid’s Monkey Backpack. Since we always referred to Alexander as our little monkey, it was the perfect bag to use with him as an on-the-go diaper bag. I loved that it was cute, it was small, and that he could also wear it around himself.

As Alexander got older, we added the matching stainless steel straw water bottle and snack cup to our collection.

Once our little Ellie came along, it was time to add to our collection again and along came the Owls. After Joey arrived, our collection grew more and we added the Elephants.

Why Coordinate?

Having a set of items for each kid that all matched has made it so much easier for us to make sure everything is ready for each kid. They all know which items are theirs and how to pack them all up and take them with when we go out. I have found that by having coordinating products for each of them also makes things move faster because no one is fighting over what belongs to who.

Skip Hop offers a wide variety of products that kids are sure to love. Everything from backpacks, water bottles, and snack cups to bibs, lunch boxes, umbrellas, rain coats and more. If you want your kids belongings to coordinate, Skip Hop is the way to go!

Coding is Fun with the Think & Learn Code-a-pillar at Best Buy

Back when I was pregnant with Joey and the doctors were concerned that there might be something wrong with his brain, I always joked that the only thing that would be wrong with it is that it would be too big because he would be born super smart.  Little did I know back in 2013, that I would be correct.

Joey, who is now on the verge of turning 3, is definitely advanced for his age. He can count, knows the alphabet, can recognize all the numbers, most letters, uses words that most of our older children don’t, retains everything he sees, hears or does, and so much more.

Since we discovered that he has a love for learning and for technology, we have done our best to supply him with toys to feed that craving. He has tablets, ereaders, handheld game devices, books, puzzles, blocks and more. One of Joey’s new favorite toys is his caterpillar, as he calls it, which is the Think & Learn Code-a-pillar from Fisher-Price, available at Best Buy.

Coding is Fun

The Fisher-Price Think & Learn Code-a-pillar makes coding fun for preschool kids ages 3 to 6.

Joey loves to take his code-a-pillar apart, redesign it and set it in motion and then follow it around.

Originally, I was worried that Joey wouldn’t be able to connect the pieces or figure out just quite how to work things, but I should have known better.

I love watching Joey play with it and figure out all the different ways to make it work. He is my little problem solver and I swear I can see the gears turning in his head.

Learning Through Play

The Fisher-Price Think & Learn Code-a-pillar is a great way for kids to learn about technology and coding.

What Does the Code-a-pillar Do?

  • Encourages experimentation while developing important skills
  • Including skills like sequencing, critical thinking, reasoning, discovery, memory, problem solving and experimentation.
  • Learning fun in endless directions
  • Kids can configure the segments to reach targets they set up throughout the room. Toy includes 1 sound segment, 3 straights, 2 right turns and 2 left turns. 2 destination targets and 1 motorized head.
  • Motorized head and segments features lights
  • Fun character sounds and blinking eyes to bring toy to life. Each segment lights up as the action happens.

On top of all of that, it makes learning oodles of fun and keeps kids busy!

Pampers Premium Care Diapers at Walmart

I have been a mom for over 16 years now and in that time, I have purchased A LOT of diapers. Not only have I purchased a lot of diapers in that time but I’ve always used a lot of brands. One thing I have learned in my 16 years as a parent is that Pampers are a staple in any home with a newborn baby and each of mine proudly wore Pampers the minute they were born.

We’ve used different Pampers diapers for different stages and ages of kids so we have become quite familiar with the brand and the different diapers they offer.

A New Line of Pampers

Pampers recently launched their Pampers Premium Care line of diapers with 5-star skin care to help little ones stay dry and comfortable.

Pampers Premium Care diapers are a hypoallergenic diaper with a wetness indicator so you know when your baby needs to be changed.

Pampers Premium Care diapers also offer a unique absorb away liner that pulls away the mess and wetness while being breathable inside and out by distributing wetness evenly for us to 12 hours of protection leaving baby feel nice and clean.

You can bet if these diapers came big enough for Joey’s bottom, he would be wearing them all the time! That boy can fill a diaper like it’s nobody’s business and the minute he feels it is wet, he takes it off!

Be sure to check your local Walmart for the new Pampers Premium Care diapers and pamper your little one right away!
