I was recently given a homemade play dough recipe from one of our local child care centers to try and tweak if need be. Since it decided to pour buckets here is Green Bay this week, I figured what better time to give it a try!
Let’s start with the recipe first:
Homemade Play Dough
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oil
Food Coloring
Instructions
Mix together the flour, salt and cream of tartar in a saucepan. Mix water, oil and food coloring together and gradually stir into dry ingredients. Cook over medium heat stirring until dough forms into a ball. Remove from heat and knead until smooth.
From this point, I separated the dough into 6 Ziploc bags and added the food coloring to each one separately making a variety of colors and I let the kids all knead the dough in the bag.
We let the dough cool for about 10 minutes after kneading it and then I let them all go crazy and play with it.
If you LOVE chocolate like I do and need a quick fix every now and again, these cookies are sure to conquer that craving! The best part is, if you follow Weight Watchers, as I do, these cookies are only 1 point a piece!
