For as long as I can remember, Hot Wheels have been a part of my life.  I loved them as a kid, Zack loved them as a kid and now Alexander loves them so much that he has introduced Ellie and Joey to them.

Needless to say…there are Hot Wheels all over our house.  We actually own 3 storage cases that are filled with them and probably a hundred more that don’t have a case yet.

Hot Wheels

With a deep love for Hot Wheels in our home, you can bet they make an appearance under our Christmas tree every year.

Since we like to stock up during the holidays, we are happy to share the news that now through December 31st, you can earn points towards exclusive rewards when you purchase a qulaifying Hot Wheels product.

Yes, you read that correctly, you can now get rewarded for buying Hot Wheels when you register at hotwheelsrewards.com.

Getting points for your purchase is easy, you can watch a quick tutorial online and get your rewards account setup right away.  Once you have your account and you’ve purchased a qualifying Hot Wheels item, scan your receipt and earn points instantly!

Once you have logged enough points, you can redeem them for some awesome rewards like this cool Monster Jam Monster Mutt 1:64 car collectible.

Alexander has been a big fan of Monster Jam Monster Mutt since he went to Monster Jam for the first time in 2013.

I’m pretty sure I know what we will be redeeming our reward points for!  Alexander’s already been eyeing up the Hot Wheels Monster Jam 1:64 Grave Digger Vehicle and the Hot Wheels Super Loop Chase Race which will give him more than enough points to get the Monster Jam Monster Mutt collectible.  I guess Santa will have to be sure to stash some extra items under the tree.

If you are shopping for a Hot Wheels fan this holiday season, be sure to register for Hot Wheels Rewards and purchase qualifying products from your local Walmart to ensure you get more out of your purchase!

*Be sure to redeem your points for a reward by December 31st 2014 or they will be gone.*

Febreze Holiday Scents & Easy Apple Tart Recipe

*This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks on behalf of Febreze. I received compensation to write this post, and any opinions expressed are my own, and reflect my actual experience.*

Now that November has arrived, the holidays are just around the corner.  It is taking every fiber of my being to not start decorating for Christmas and put a tree up.  *I must wait until after Thanksgiving. I must wait until after Thanksgiving.*

Just because I can’t jump the gun and throw up Christmas throughout our home doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy the smells of the holidays before they arrive.

There are soooo many smells that go along with the holidays that I enjoy.  I love anything that is pumpkin spiced or apple cinnamon, the fresh Christmas tree scent and sugar cookie. All of these scents make me crave the holidays.

Thankfully, I don’t have to wait for the holidays to arrive to fill our home with these intoxicating smells.  Febreze has a complete line of holiday scents for the home, available at Walmart, and we have been busy putting them to use.

The Febreze Home for the Holidays Collection includes the scents of Apple Tart, Sugared Cranberry, Toasted Almond, Frosted Pine and Vanilla Latte.

I am in love with each of these scents!  Right now the Vanilla Latte is hanging out in my minivan via a vent clip, our half-bath/guest bath smells like sugared cranberry, and the kitchen is toasted almond one day and apple tart the next. When we head to Walmart this weekend  I will be picking up a very large supply of the  frosted pine.

Since I’ve been overwhelming my family with these delicious scents, I thought it was only right to indulge them in a little treat so Libby and I whipped up some easy apple pie tarts for dessert.

You can easily make these Mini Apple Pie Tarts for your friends and family following the recipe below.

Ingredients

-1/2 cup of water

-1/4 cup of sugar

-1/2 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 tsp vanilla

-2 tbsp flour

-a pinch of salt

-4 diced apples

-16 wonton wrappers

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 375*F.  Whisk the water, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and flour in a pot over medium heat.  Add the apples and stir until the liquid starts to boil and thicken.

2. Set the heat to low and cook, covered, for 12 to 15 minutes until the apples soften.

3. Press the wonton wrappers into a greased mini-muffin pan.  If you like sweeter tarts, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

4. Scoop the apple mixture into the wontons and bake for about 10 minutes.

5. Enjoy!

Don’t Leave the Pups Beggin’ for Purina this Halloween, Be Prepared

*This is a sponsored post brought to you by Lunchbox on behalf of Purina and Walmart.  All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.*

Halloween is right around the corner and we are busy getting ready.  We’ve been doing a few little decorative things around the house, watching some movies with the kids, trying on costumes and the only person who seems to be struggling with what to be this year is Bubba.

Should he be a Viking?

Should he be a hotdog?

Should he be a shark?

Although he is confused as to which costume he’s going to wear, the one thing he does know is that he is looking forward to enjoing some more Beggin’ Strips, the Official Dog Treat of Halloween.

Be sure to pick up some Beggin’ Strips from your local Walmart and share some with your furry friends this Halloween!  Bubba’s favorite are the bacon cheese flavored Beggin’ Strips.

You can celebrate Halloween with your furry friends this year with Beggin’, the Official Dog Treat of Halloween.  Bubba loves his Beggin’ Strips soooo much that we thought we should share the Treat Seeker game at the Purina Pet Park, where you can win one of 25,000 treat samples for your pet.

Win It

In addition to strutting around the Purina Pet Park, you can also enter for your chance to win 1 of 5 $50 Walmart gift cards!

Teach Your Teen to Properly Care for Their Contacts

*I wrote this review while participating in an Influencer campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. and received a promotional item from Mom Central to thank me for participating.*

Prior to Zack starting 7th grade I caved and took him to the eye doctor for an exam and a fitting for contact lenses. Yes, he was young but he was going to be playing football and we decided that contacts were his best option.  He wore contacts for the duration of the football season and then he went back to his glasses.

Now that Zack is a sophomore in high school he is back in contacts full time however it wasn’t an easy road back. When we went in for a new exam and then back to pick up his new contacts, we had to go through the education of caring for his contacts and his eyes again.

Zack’s current contacts are Acuvue Oasys which he wears for two weeks at a time and tosses.  In the beginning, I tried to get him on a schedule so he would get in the routine of taking them out every night, cleaning his case regularly and throw them away every two weeks.

For the most part, he’s done pretty well at caring for both his contacts and his eyes but I have had to remind him a few times to toss them after 2 weeks of use as well as cleaning his case on a regular basis.

To ensure he is taking care of things in a timely fashion I recently registered him with ACUMINDER, a free service that will send him a reminder via text and email when it is time to replace his contacts, order new ones or when to schedule an exam.

You can get friendly reminders emailed or texted to you or your child by signing up with ACUMINDER.
