Celebrate Back to School with Yoplait Go-GURT Yogurt

*This post is brought to you by Yoplait. The information and prize pack have been provided by Yoplait through MyBlogSpark. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

If you have a bunch of kids in your house, like I do, then I’m sure you have either heard of Go-GURT® Yogurt from Yoplait or purchased or maybe both. Go-GURT® Yogurt is an item you will find on our grocery list on a regular basis since both Alexander and Ellie enjoy them, a lot.

As a mom, I like to purchase Go-GURT® Yogurt as a dessert and snack item for the kids.  In the summer we buy them and freeze them and then the kids have fro-yo on the go.  During the school year we refrigerate and freeze; refrigerate for snack or dessert time and freeze to toss in with a cold lunch (Go-GURT® Yogurt will thaw out by lunch time).

Kids love Go-GURT® Yogurt because it’s fun to eat, and has great tasting flavors kids crave. And mom loves that Go-GURT® is now made with natural colors and flavors, and contains no high-fructose corn syrup and it’s a good source of calcium.

Since 2006, I have done my best to keep our family away from the traditional credit card, aside from our bank debit card that links to our checking account.  After running into some identity theft issues and ungodly high interest rates, Alex and I decided that traditional credit cards weren’t for us.

Since then, we have relied mainly on our bank debit card and prepaid debit cards.  I’m personally a fan of prepaid debit cards because they give you a chance to save for a certain occasion if you like, there are NO credit checks, NO checkl cashing fees, NO overdraft fees or late fee, you have access to ATMs worldwide and you can use them everywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted.

We recently received a new Visa prepaid card from CARD.com that we plan on having some money direct deposited too over the next year to help us save up for a MUCH NEEDED family vacation.

When I first visited CARD I was suprised at all of the card designs offered.  Of course, being that we are from Green Bay and are HUGE Packer fans, choosing a card design wasn’t hard at all.

Naturally, I chose the Reggie White Visa right away!  Zack is already asking if he can get his own card after seeing this design.

I am looking forward to saving up for our little vacation over the next year and using our awesome Reggie White card to fund our trip, meals and souvenirs!

What do you or would you use a prepaid card for?

Unfortunately, head lice are common in elementary schools – about one out of every 100 elementary school children becomes infested.

Most parents would agree, the letter home informing of a head lice outbreak is not a welcome sight. The question of “What do I do?” is common. Knowing the facts beforehand can help you resolve the situation quickly.

The Headfirst! Expert Advice on Lice website aims to help you do just that. Created by head lice experts (and moms) for other moms, families and communities to learn about head lice—what they are, what they look like and how to treat them.

Get a Flu Shot, #GiveAShot at Walgreens #cbias

Being the mom of 5 happy and healthy children is something that I am extremely grateful for.  Right before the older kids went back to school a few weeks ago, they all made a trip to our family doctor for their physicals and to make sure they were all current on their vaccinations. Libby was the only one who didn’t have to get a vaccine, Zack managed to escape with just one while poor Alexander had to get 4 including a Hepatitis vaccine.

As a mom, I feel that it is my job to make sure my kids are safe and protected against things that can harm them, including illness, and with all of the germs they come into contact with at school, making sure they are up to date on vaccinations is important to me.

Although my kids are my top priority, I know that mine and my husband’s health is also very important and that is why we make sure that we are up to date on our vaccinations as well.

With flu season right around the corner, we all have an appointment with our doctor next month for our flu shots when the little dude goes in for his 2 month checkup….a family who gets vaccinated together stays healthy together. Thankfully we all see the same doctor and we can do this all in one trip.

Unfortunately, there are other adults out there who don’t have access to a doctor and think that for this reason they can’t get vaccinated.  During a recent trip to Walgreens to grab a few sale items I learned that Walgreens offers adult immunizations in their clinics.

With no appointment needed, you can walk right in and get not only a flu shot but other vaccines such as pneumonia, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis A & B and more!

Our local Walgreens has a nice little vaccine corner by the pharmacy where their immunization-trained pharmacists administer vaccines.

After talking with the pharmacist on the immunizations they provide, I learned that from now until October 14th, 2013 for every person who receives a flu shot or other immunization at Walgreens, they will give a life saving caccine to a child in a developing country through their ‘Get A Shot. Give A Shot.’ campaign.  With this partnership, up to 3 million vaccines will be provided to a child in need to protect them against life threatening diseases like measles and polio.

You can learn more about Walgreens and the Shot@Life program and find out how you can help a child in need and give them a shot at happiness and a healthy life by visiting their website.  Getting adult vaccinations is easy to do at Walgreens!  Check out more pictures from our trip to Walgreens on Google +.

No appointment is needed for immunizations but you are welcome to schedule one before your visit and you can do it easily online
