Mother’s Day is just around the corner

I love Mother’s Day.
Believe it or not, I actually love Mother’s Day MORE than my birthday!
My kids have always made Mother’s Day great and that’s why I enjoy it so much.
Last year for Mother’s Day, the kids made me cards, attempted to serve me breakfast in bed and then took me out for lunch AND dinner!
It was such a nice day.
And it has to be the best one I have had in the 12 years I have been a mom EXCEPT….
my first Mother’s Day will always be my favorite.
Zack was born in February 1999, so my first Mother’s Day was when he was a few days shy of being 3 months old.
My mom went out of her way to get me a card from him (that I still have).
Not to mention that day care also made sure I got a little something from him as well….

This is the front of the Mother’s Day Card Zack ‘made’ me for my 1st Mother’s Day in 1999.

Your first Mother’s Day is one you never forget and I know that I never will.
Over the years, the kids have made me a few other pieces of artwork and I thought I would share with you because homemade gifts from kids are truly the best kind!!

I don’t have any homemade Mother’s Day cards from Alexander just yet, but I’m pretty sure that this year I will receive my first!!
Cards are a great way to say Happy Mother’s Day and Tiny Prints offers a great selection of cards for you to create your own unique cards.

I did it.

On May 11th, 2009 I began a new journey.
One that once I completed it, I would be able to call myself a college graduate.
I have reached that time.
As of this past Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 I have completed the 60 required credits to receive my Associate of Arts in Information Technology and Web Design.

Yes.
My file is currently under review with the university and I am waiting for one grade to be finalized ( it will be a B+ in Abnormal Psych ) and then I will be eligible to receive my diploma.
That is a day that I CANNOT wait for.
Did I mention that I already have a pretty frame to put it in?
Cuz, I totally do.
Did I also mention that I completed my degree with a 3.4 GPA?
Cuz I totally did that too!
Which for me….IS HUGE!
I never applied myself in high school so I never knew that I had such potential.
From here, I plan on relaxing for the next few months while the hubby works hard to finish his degree as well.
However, in the Fall, I will become a student once again.
My next goal…..a BS in Digital Design and Animation!
Wish me luck!
P.S. Did I mention how unbelievably proud I am of myself????
