Spend more time in the ’hood with Arnold and his best buddy, Gerald, as they endure playground bullies, secret crushes, new teachers, an alien invasion and more! Don your cap and your unbuttoned flannel shirt and head for the TV for 10 big-city adventures on 2 DVDs!

Hey Arnold features an all-star voice cast, including Toran Caudell (Recess), Dan Castellaneta (The Simpsons), Francesca Smith (Recess) and Jamil Walker Smith (SGU Stargate Universe).

I love that the shows my older kids watched on TV are hitting DVD and my little ones will be able to experience these great shows as well. Plus my older kids are enjoying watching them again!

Acne: It’s Not Just For Teens

As a teen, I didn’t struggle with acne as much as my peers. For me, the acne didn’t start to set in and become a hassle until I became pregnant with my first child. Now, having just endured my 4th pregnancy with our little Ellie, the acne is out of control. I have tried multiple products on the market and have yet to find something that will help clear my skin up.

Since Ellie’s arrival, the acne has increased. I know part of this has to do with all of the hormones and what not but I really want to start combating it.

Thanks to MomCentral & Max Clarity, over the next few weeks I will be using the MaxClarity foam acne medication system and am very hopeful it will do the trick and clear up my skin.

This is a shot of me a few weekends ago as we traveled to Chicago. In this picture I have cover up and powder caked on my face to cover the most recent acne breakout. I look forward to a day when I am not afraid to venture out without the makeup. Although I am wearing makeup, you can still see some of the red marks and raised areas on my face.  Since this picture and the change in weather here in Wisconsin (Summer temps in the beginning of Spring) my body seems to be confused and I’m breaking out even more!  No matter how many times I wash my face morning, noon and night, I wake up every morning to a new outbreak mainly on my cheeks or along my jawline.

It is out of control and it needs to stop!

NOW!

Help Us Clear Out The House

Spring has arrived here in Wisconsin and here at the home of The Megalomaniac Mommy, we are taking full advantage of it with some serious Spring cleaning.
We are cleaning out the house and prepping for a move (**FINGERS CROSSED WE BUY A HOUSE THIS SUMMER!!!**)
Since I hate setting up, organizing and advertising yard/rummage sales and have some great items to get clear out of the house I thought why not just sell them and put all of the money earned towards the down payment on our first home!

I also decided that instead of going the Ebay route where you have to pay fees and blah, blah, blah, why not just make our virtual yard sale part of this site?

And so, The Megalomaniac Mommy’s Virtual Yard Sale was born.

Right now, it is a work in progress.

I am currently photographing, uploading, pricing and making it pretty.

All items will be available for purchase via PayPal and the price for shipping will also be included.

Sales will only be open to U.S. Residents since it is so dang hard to ship outside of the U.S.

I will have baby stuff, books, educational materials, housewares, clothing, home decor and more!

I will also continue to add items as we uncover them as we begin to pack up the house and get organized.

Some items included in the sale are new and some are used and will be noted.

If you are local to the Green Bay area, I will arrange for you to pick items up and save on the shipping!

So, that it what I am working on. The minute we are ready to go live I will be sure to share!

Poor Little Sick Boy

My poor little Alexander is sick.
He hasn’t been himself since last Tuesday.
On Tuesday we all had a stomach bug that was not pleasant.
He started coughing really bad Wednesday night.
By Thursday he added a fever to the mix.
By Friday we had a cough, fever, running nose and puking.
Saturday night after a day of dosing with Triaminic for the cough and Tylenol for his fever he was coughing so hard he kept waking himself up and he his fever just wasn’t going away, he was sweating and he was freezing.
We found ourselves in the ER around 11:30 pm.
Diagnosis – Bilateral ear infection.
We left with a prescription for an antibiotic.
Here we are, Tuesday morning and he is not doing any better.
The cough is getting worse and he is just miserable.
Looks like mommy is calling the Dr’s office for an appointment today!

As Far As The Eye Can See

Half of the people in our home wear glasses.
This group includes myself, the Alex and my oldest son, Zack.
I have worn glasses since the 3rd grade and finally graduated into contacts my freshman year of high school. The Alex allegedly wore glasses before we met and then misplaced them and struggled with his vision until I forced him to go to the eye doctor and get new glasses in 2006.
I couldn’t have him squinting at the TV while he was playing video games with Zack.
This past fall, I caved and purchased contacts for Zack as well since he was playing football.
In January, Zack returned to the eye doctor to discover that his sight has declined and he now needed to have bi-focals at the age of 12.
For the past month we have been looking into getting him contacts as well and have been investigating what type of contacts he will need now that he requires bi-focals. One option I have found is biofinity toric contacts and I am thinking they might just do the trick.

After browsing around the net for the right fit for my boy, I decided to look into some new contacts for myself as well.  For years I have wanted colored contacts to help enhance my blue eyes.  I have dark blue eyes so I would need to find colored contacts for dark eyes.  I stumbled across the brand that I currently use and found that they have a product that would meet my needs and they offer enhancers in a variety of blues such as ocean blue, aquamarine, sapphire blue and deep blue.

Now that I have found what I was looking for I just have to decide what color I want and then place an order for both myself and Zack.

Fingers crossed everything works out for us!

(Maybe I will finally convince the Alex to get contacts too!)
