Two weeks ago, I made my way to Los Angeles California to attend The Lion King 3D Mom Blogger Event and premiere screening at the El Capitan Theater.
It was a surreal experience!
We spent time getting a behind the scenes look at how the original film came to be and even had the opportunity to meet the producer, Don Hahn along with Niketa Calame, the voice of young Nala.
There was an African Dance class taught by Nzingha Camara, an instructor from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
We learned about Disney’s latest great creation, Disney Second Screen which enhances the movie viewing experience followed by a presentation from Stereographer Robert Neuman who educated us on how the film was created in 3D.
After our day of learning how everything behind the scenes works, we had the opportunity to have dinner at Villa Blanca with the beautiful Moira Kelly who does the voice of the adult Nala in the film.
Dinner was AMAZING to say the least. I started off with the Caprese a la Villa Blanca, had the Chicken Milanese as my main course and finished up with the English Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert.
(My apologies for the quality of pictures.)
During dinner we had the chance to sit down and get to know Moira and here about her family. She was completely down to earth and was one of the nicest people I’ve met.
As the day ended, I made my way back to the hotel for some star gazing before calling it a night.
The next morning we were up early and headed to the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood for the Green Grass premiere of The Lion King 3D.
The movie was INCREDIBLE!!
I already loved this movie but seeing it in 3D was unreal!
Everything in the movie really came to life making it even more amazing than it was the first time around!
