The Megalomaniac Mommy

Having little ones in the house keeps me on my toes when I am buying household cleaners.  I always do my best to ensure that we are not using a bunch of chemicals that will harm the kids and have recently started using some products that are more environmentally friendly as well.

Right now we are looking at having the carpet cleaned in the 2 main rooms of the house and I have been researching different companies and the types of products they use.  Then I discovered Green Choice in New Jersey (which of course, doesn’t benefit our family but I wanted to let my friends in Jersey know!).  Green Choice offers green carpet cleaning New Jersey.

Now that I have stumbled upon a company that offers carpet cleaning using eco-friendly cleaning solutions, I am on the hunt to find one in our area.  Knowing the we will have a crawler on our hands soon I want to make sure that there is nothing that can harm our little lady when she is scooting around the house!  If she is anything like Tatertot, she will be ARMY crawling real soon!

For my Jersey friends, enjoy!  Their prices are great and they also have coupons available for download on their site to save you a little more cash!

That’s right!
I have teamed up with some of my fellow bloggers and business buddies and we are giving away a Nook Color, case and screen protector to one lucky person!!!

This past Friday, the DramaQueen and I had a much needed mommy/daughter date.
Our date started with lunch at Perkins…this was her choice.
I sat there, for an hour eating my turkey sandwich and fries while watching her devour a stack of pancakes with a side of bacon while talking….the entire time.
I was amazed by her ability to talk nonstop while eating.
Once our meal was complete, we made our way to a local nail salon an splurged on deluxe pedicures.
After a nice hot soak, scrub, wrap, stone massage and more, our little piggies were perfect.

The entire time we were getting our pedicures….she talked.
She never ran out of things to talk about.
I heard about books, movies, friends, soccer, boys, music and more.
She talked.
I absorbed.
She just had so much to say and I loved every minute of it.
During our pedicures, we decided that we are going to treat ourselves monthly.

We were having a great afternoon together and made our way to get our haircut.
From here….our day went downhill.

We went in for a simple trim off the ends and some quick layers and ended up with the worst haircuts I have ever seen.
The DramaQueen had finally reached the point in which she could pull her hair back into a ponytail.
After the cut, she could not.
She ended up with a bunch of chopped up sections of hair.

I ended up with a section of bangs on the right side of my head and a bunch of shorter (4-6 inch long sections) throughout the rest of my hair.

We went straight to another salon after discovering all of the issues and I had mine fixed best I could for now. With my hair being so thick and overly curly, it is much easier to hide the mistakes.

I wish the same could be said for the DramaQueen.
We booked an appointment with our regular stylist for the next morning.
She went in looking like this.

Prior to the bad haircut her hair was all one length. If you look closely you can see that it is now shorter towards the top and very choppy.

She was happy to be at the salon and getting it fixed.

An hour later she walked out of the salon with a cute inverted bob.

Of course, it looks great on her.

In the beginning of March, I had given her a peekaboo hair color and put bright pink in her hair. This new haircut allowed her to show it off a lot more so we decided we had to redo the color and enhance it.

Needless to say, her friends at school think I am the coolest mom ever.

Even though our day didn’t go exactly as we had planned it, I still enjoyed it.
I loved being able to steal a moment with my 11 year old daughter who is on the verge of being 12. I enjoyed absorbing her, 1 on 1 without any interruptions from the other kids and cannot wait until June 15th when we go for our manis and pedis together and I get to spend all of that time with her again!
