Well, it’s official…my kids have less than a week left of school and then their summer vacation starts. Although they are done with school, they will still be attending summer school in the mornings. Some of it is for fun and some is to strengthen skills in areas where they struggle.
With the kids attending summer school Monday through Friday for the first 4 weeks of summer, we are restricted to weekend travel but we are have some fun things in store.
Of course, I’ve been busy planning things and making lists and following all kinds of travel tips to ensure that our summer adventures are fun!
Our first family outing will be to the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan. We have plans to have a lot of fun at their indoor waterpark while exploring the lakeshore. We stayed at Blue Harbor 2 years ago when Joey was just a few weeks old and I didn’t get to participate in the fun. This time, you can bet I am going to enjoy it!
The following weekend (Father’s Day weekend) we will be heading to Day Out with Thomas with Ellie and Joey and then later that day heading down to Wisconsin Dells for the weekend. This will be our first trip to the Dells as a family and we are really excited. More waterparks for the kids to enjoy, tourist attractions and maybe some time for Alex and I to relax.
In July we will be heading out to Eau Claire to visit my sister-in-law Amy and her fiance Lauren. This will also be our first trip out to EC as a family and we can’t wait to see their house and check out some of the fun things in Eau Claire and possibly head over to the Mall of America too.
One thing Alex and I are really excited about is that we will be heading to Alpine Valley in East Troy in the end of July to FINALLY see Dave Matthews Band. That will be a great trip for just the two of us!
Other then that, our calender is still open here and there but I’m sure we will quickly fill it up with more fun things to do!
