Over the past few months, we have been implementing some lifestyle changes in our home. Aside from removing fast food from our home/diet, we have also started drinking more water.
I have never been a fan of drinking water therefore it has always been something my diet has lacked. I don’t know what it is, other than the lack of flavor, but I just am not a fan.
Scratch that….I wasn’t a fan.
And then it changed.
In December, when Bean was born I began drinking water, not on a regular basis but it was starting to become a normal part of my day. Now that we have given up fast food and I have been trying to limit my soda/coffee intake I have been doing my best to drink more water.
One of my biggest problems with water is that I cannot drink it straight from the tap. To me tap water has a very strange taste and smell to it. Where I live it has a slight chlorine taste to it and I just can’t drink that.
A few months back we purchased your standard water filtering pitcher in hopes that it would help remove the chlorine taste from the water. For me, it just didn’t do the trick.
We recently received a ZeroWater Pitcher that contains an Ion Exchange water filtration system that removes virtually all of the dissolved solids from your tap water leaving you with a delicious pure water.
The pitcher was also accompanied by a total dissolved solids meter to test the water.
. I tested our water straight from the tap and it rated at 148 ppm (parts per million). Not bad, but not really good either. From there I tested the water that was in our standard water filtering pitcher…..128 ppm. This really surprised our family. After filling the ZeroWater Pitcher and testing it, it came back at zero ppm.
Yes, the pitcher stands true to its name.
Not only does this pitcher give us water that is nice and clean, it also has a tap on the bottom of the handle so the kids can get water without having to life the pitcher up and pour it risking a huge mess! (A a mom this wonderful addition to the pitcher is a blessing, especially because the button is just easy enough for the older kids to use but not so easy that the 4 year old can access it without help!)
This pitcher has been used more in the last week in our house than the other pitcher was in one month. It is definitely a welcomed addition to our fridge!
Goodbye chlorine taste and hello delicious water!

We have a Britta pitcher right now, and I really like the convenience of it, but it doesn’t seem to do a whole lot to improve our water… with the amount that my son drinks, I would really love something that was better!

I want to win so I stop buying so much bottled water — TOTALLY guilty of that. I don’t drink it otherwise, so I’m not sure which is worse.

A year ago, I committed myself to a healthier lifestyle. I’ve lost 50 lbs and I’ve given up all caffeine and soda products. I drink approximately 120 oz of water a day, but because our tap water tastes so bad, I spend a ton on bottled water. (I, too, have tried other pitcher-filters and have not been satisfied.) If I had this, I could fill a couple of larger refillable/reusable water bottles (more eco-friendly), which would help me to save money, would benefit me to have healthy water to drink, and would be more environmentally friendly!
